Pennsylvania baca
There is another organization in Pennsylvania named baca. They, along with a 1% club are suing the local city where they have their annual poker run. Police presence was high due to clubs fighting and caused attendance to be low for their event. That baca is NOT a part of our organization. Be aware.
Chief
History of the Pennsylvania baca. We copyrighted and trademarked Bikers Against Child Abuse in 1998 with the U.S. Patent Office. The other baca group has never copyrighted. 5 years after we were trademarked, we can legally prevent anyone else using our name.
AB
Meaning of the Patch:
Red: blood shed from child abuse
White: lost innocence of the children
Black: dark times the child goes thru
Fist: our commitment to stop child abuse
Jolly Roger: an end to child abuse
Chains: our united organization
Scootr – National Chapter Development

Angel - MO
Deuce - TX
Tree - AR
Chief – Previous policy. Relocated Members: Members that move from their current Chapter area living in a place where there is not currently a BACA Chapter. If they stay active in Chapter Development in the new area, they may keep their Patch until the new Chapter is developed. Once the Chapter was developed, they would turn their Patch in for exchange for their new Chapter Patch.
PROPOSED – A relocated Member will be sponsored by their previous Chapter. The previous State Board will recommend to the NEB regarding the relocated Member keeping their BACA Patch. It will then be determined on a case by case basis according to the New Chapter Development structure. The National Development Officer will keep the NEB apprised of the status of the relocated Member and the new Chapter development on a quarterly basis.
Motion by Horace to adopt proposal

Read the BACA Mission Statement
Moving forward as an organization requires change. What we’re about, is the children. Are you willing to give your life for a child? Then certainly you’d give up a little pride and make some changes. We all should make concessions to work toward the better of this organization. One organization.
Website. The NEB recommends the adoption of the new website as a move to uniformity and a united organization and enhanced security.
Open Floor for questions and concerns from the gallery.
PROPOSED: We use the new BACA USA website for one year. At the next annual convention, re-evaluate usage and vote whether to keep it or drop it. Individual Chapters will be able to link to their current websites for the next year if they choose.
Motion by Angel to adopt proposal.

T - National Security
Safety. Do not list personal names, phone number and addresses on websites and business cards.
Media coverage. Be careful what you say. They clip and take out of context. Some Chapters live in Club territories. Think of your Brother.
Liability. Have the organizations you’re working with, use a release form signed by the parents or legal guardians of the child(ren).
Background checks. Each Chapter is requested to let T know the sources they are using for their background check. T received only 8 responses from Chapters over the past year. T will review all methods to see if one method may work for all.
Review Committee. T is heading a committee to ensure compliance with the mission and procedures. Four Members will be selected from around the Nation.
Policy & Procedures Manual. T is creating a manual for the BACA Nation to follow for day to day operating procedures. Please forward T content you’d like to see included.
Maggie - National Events Coordinator
100 Mile Run. BACA National fundraiser for Child Abuse Prevention Month. Information contained on a disk was given to each State Rep for their Chapters. It contains ride info, pledge sheets, press release. The ride is open to BACA members that have completed their application process and background check. The ride is scheduled for April 26th at noon. Funds will be split 50/50 between Chapter and National. Be up front with sponsors, hopefully. this will become a one shot deal to support National so we don’t have to take local funds for National support. Maggie and Bomber will be working on National PR for this event.
PROPOSED: We do this ride April 26th at noon as a Nation. Every Chapter participates whether they raise funds or not.

Bomber - National PR
Paul talks to news media about BACA Nationally. Currently working on a 30 second commercial for BACA. Collecting data on TV networks, national news media, big name actors and singers.
Request of Chapters: Sell a few of Paul’s merchandise items to generate funding for the National PR account. Work with Paul for funding ideas and PR contacts. Danno will send Paul lists of Chapter contacts so he can contact them every two weeks regarding his progress.
2004 goal: Work with every Chapter to get the word out about BACA for their area.
National Issues and concerns
10%
To clarify item #10 under BACA STRUCTURE: STATES, from last year’s conference: the 10% donation of funds raised by each Chapter in support of National is suggested. You may give more or less depending on each individual Chapter. If donating 10% would place your Chapter in financial distress, let the NEB know. The kids come first. It’s more important that the Chapter be able to operate. We do not have member dues, but we need funds to operate at the National level.
Quarterly Reports - AB
Each Chapter is asked to submit a quarterly report of activities. This helps National know what is working and what is not. The National Board exists to support the Chapters.
Merchandise - Scootr
What we’ve been doing has not worked.
PROPOSAL: Form a committee to resolve the merchandise issue. Resolution will be by email then presented to the NEB. Committee: Scootr, John (NH), Gambler, Kermit, Breeze, Chris Clark, Viper, Sandman, Dennis (TX)
