Lead Tutor Employment Application
What aLead Tutor is:
A model student who effectively tutors students one-on-one in the Learning Center through an online format and assists in the administration of the Volunteer Tutor Program. Lead Tutors will also host drop in tutoring hours and tutor by appointment face to face as needed.
Minimum Requirements to be aLead Tutor:
- One semester as a Volunteer Tutor
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Both an A and overall proficiency in the courses you will tutor
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency
- Must be available for 15 hours a week in the Learning Center
- Must be available to work at least one weeknight after 5pm
Duties and Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct the Learning Center online tutoring program which includes, but is not limited to:
- Scheduling and conducting tutoring sessions
- Monitoring and answering question boards
- Monitoring student usage
- Assist with administrative duties of the Volunteer Tutor Program including, but not limited to:
- Answering e-mail correspondence
- Assist students in finding tutors
- Assist with Volunteer Tutor training
- Supervising Volunteer Tutors
- Tutor face to face as needed
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Attend all trainings and meetings as directed by your supervisor
