Welcome Back and a Happy New Year to you all.
Facebook, Class Dojo and Piota.
We try to keep you as fully informed as possible with school events.
Please can you ensure that we have your most recent information so that you may access these facilities?
As we are starting to be as environmentally friendly as possible we will no longer be sending paper copies of newsletters home.
Copies will be available from the office if required.
Uniform
Many thanks for sending the children back to school smartly in uniform. If clarification is needed on uniform all details are on the website.
All children are required to participate in PE lessons weekly and will need PE Kit in school. Please make sure that this is clearly labelled and comes into school at the beginning of the week returning home at the weekend to be washed.
We do hold some emergency kit in school, but would be really grateful for any donations or ‘grown out’ kit from home.
W/C 5th March and W/C 12th March
Why not come and join the children for a school lunch. We are inviting parents to come and join us on the above weeks to share lunchtime with the children – Slips will be available to complete on the Piota App nearer the time.
Homework / Reading at home
We appreciate that many children lead busy lives outside school and carry out hobbies or attend clubs which are hugely valuable.
If children are struggling to complete homework or reading at home we do offer an opportunity for them to do this in a break time if required.
We will be opening the library on a Friday break time for children to read either their school text or a book from the library – We hope this helps.
Children in years 5 and 6 can complete their own reading record entries if required. Please could parents simply initial on a weekly basis.
Reading records are checked for 5 weekly readings on a Friday morning.
Lost Property
There is a large amount of lost property accumulating in school. Please could you ensure that all articles of clothing are clearly labelled with your child’s name. The lost property basket is situated by the KS2 playground doors. We also have 2 pairs of glasses in school which have not been collected.
Please call into school if you think these could belong to your child.
After School Clubs
We are running a wide variety of after school clubs this term – A full list will be available shortly.
Physical Activity
In an attempt to introduce more physical activity into school we have introduced a number of initiatives this term.
Each class will participate in a ‘daily mile’ and teams will compete in a 10’000steps challenge. At break times children will have the opportunity to take part in a ‘One Fast Mile’ activity and at the end of each playtime children will carry out 3 minutes of brisk walking / aerobic style exercise.
