THE PRIDE OF THE BENGAL

THE SEASON IN REVIEW

PRESEASON:

During the summer, the girls showed great excitement for the upcoming season. We had our third annual alumni game. The players came into the season enthusastic. The girls work exceptionally hard during our “fun runs.” We had another scavenger hunt! New players displayed confidence and a willingness to step up, while our seasoned players led by example. Upperclassman selected Little Sisters again. The team voted for the three captains: Kate, Maddie, and Toner.

COMPETITION:

We started the season off very well! As a whole, the team seemed to worth with and for one another. When all things were clicking and we played smart and our style of game we played exceptionally well. Mr. Geddes joined the coaches and really provided a spark. Highlights of the season include qualifying for the Shore Conference Tournament for the second year in a row. They also beat Donovan Catholic twice and played a great game vs. Brick Township even though they were down a few players. It was also amazing to see Lexi Quinn beat the season and career assist record and Maddie Musico beat the season and career goals and points records.

FUTURE OUTLOOK:

With Lacey coming into B-South there was stiffer competition, especially with them and Point Boro. The beauty of soccer is that anyone can win and we hope that in future seasons we will build the mental toughness to compete in each and every game. While we will miss this senior class greatly, many underclassmen got valuable playing experience. Remember that this team is your second family. For the underclassmen think about what you want to accomplish next year and what we can do as a program to achieve even greater success. The seniors will tell you that while it seems far away now, your senior year will soon be upon you and you do not want to have any regrets.

SENIORS, WE WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK! Thank you for all you have done over the past four years to make soccer the best it can be. You will truly be missed.
