In preparation for our field trip to Churchville Nature Center, our class will be making and designing our very own Lenni Lenape t shirts with our chosen name for the tribe. Be sure to ask your child what name they picked and why.

Reading We are picking back up with our Rigby curriculum and continuing with Theme 9. We will be focusing on making connections, comparing and contrasting information and determining importance.

Vocabulary Words: abundant, halt, scrap, production, distribution, import, industry, scarcity, goods and site

Spelling words (Proper nouns)

Core words:Africa, Amazon River, Asia, Baltimore, Helen Keller, June, Maine, William Penn, Tarzan, Tuesday

No Excuse words: bring, fast, green, hand

Challenge words: Hawaii, Native American, Southampton, Lenape

Personal words: multiplication, family

Math: We are finishing Unit 9: which includes multiplying with 2 digit numbers and introducing division. Please, please, please continue to help your child practice their multiplication/division/addition and subtraction facts with their fact triangles/flash cards or any other method to help memorization of facts. Please review/tear out Unit 9 Family Letter in Home Links! 

Flash cards are a great way to help your child brush up on their facts. Check out my website and click on the websites link. Look under Math Websites for other games and activities or use your child’s Everyday Math website .

Social Studies:We are in the middle of studying different regions of the United States, Mexico and Canada. An important theme is that your environment affects the way you live your life.

Math: study and memorize your multiplication facts/xtramath session

Reading: study for your spelling test tomorrow!

Friday: Day 2 Health and Violas

Every night: Your child should be reading for at least 20 minutes, practicing their math facts and have a smile on their face when they talk about school! 
