From Mrs L Howells - Teacher

In June 2017 I nominated two pupils in respect of the Young Good Citizenship Awards 2017. One of the nominations was Faye Longden who is a Shrewsbury Academy student at WRC. Faye is 13 years old and despite her having her own battles and challenges, Faye is always willing to help and support at all times and always puts the needs of others first.

Faye regularly helps out at with sporting events after school in her own time. These events are for primary school children. She has been involved in the school games leadership programme this year and has given her time to support with gymnastic and cycling events and will be assisting with the running of a Tri Golf event in June 2017, she will also be a county school games leader on the 4 July next.

Faye recently had her long blonde hair cut and donated her hair to a charity called, “The Little Princess Trust “. The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to boys and girls that have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer.

Faye has valuable life skills at such an early age. Her communication, commitment, alongside her responsible, reliable and organised attitude deserve to be recognised.

I am so pleased and proud to tell you that Faye has been selected by the High Sheriffs of Shropshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire along with the West Mercia Police and crime commissioner to receive the award of young good citizenship 2017. She will be attending an award ceremony in Worcester at Hindlip Hall Force headquarters on October 19th Next. Congratulations Faye. #Aspiration #Excellence #Co-operation
