Paige will conduct a review/help session on Thursday evenings 6:00 – 9:00. The primary purpose of these is to get help on the homework due from week to week and to review material from the previous Saturday. These sessions will be held in CLC 417.

Paige can provide additional assistance via e-mail throughout the week as well.

The math-tutoring lab (CLC 419) is also available most evenings for assistance.

Prerequisites: A basic understanding of elementary algebra is expected.

We will be covering all or parts of chapters 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Materials: A calculator is required. A TI-83 (or 84), although expensive, could be very useful to you.

Homework: There will be a total of 5 homework projects that will be collected for a grade. These will be passed out in class and due the following Saturday. It is important that these are turned in on time so that I can post the solutions. You may use any source you wish to assist you in doing these projects. There is also a list of suggested problems for each section.

Exams: The Midterm Exam is on April 5. It will cover chapters 1 & 3.

The Final Exam is on May 10. It will cover chapters 4 – 6.

Grades:

Scale: Based on: Homework = 40%

A = 94 – 100 C- = 71 – 73 Midterm = 30%

A- = 91 – 93 D+ = 68 – 70 Final = 30%

B+ = 88 – 90 D = 60 – 67

B = 84 – 87

B- = 81 – 83 F = below 60

C+ = 78 – 80

C = 74 – 77
