  1. Bellwork: Focus Parts of Speech
  2. Vocab—go over the analogies worksheet
  3. Handout: Outsiders, must have to start in two weeks.
  4. Students will have a splash of countries in front of the room. They will do a fun activity to guess the countries. (5 minutes).
  5. Discuss the different cultures that we see at these countries. What is their family’s culture. How is it different. ETC.
  6. Show them the map of Russia. Who can guess where this is?
  7. Show pictures of Russian things. Have students list five differences that they see.
  8. Introduce the concept of My Favorite Chaperone. Pass out the handout. Begin listening to the story as students fill in the handout.
  9. Students will work in partnerships to complete close reader worksheets together.
