/ Objectives: Explain the significance of the Good Samaritan Law, Identify the steps for evaluating a victim
Identify the seven life-saving steps of first aid, Identify the information needed when calling an emergency number such as 911, Describe the purpose of the Universal Precautions
Define key words: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), catastrophes, consent, Emergency Medical Service (EMS), evaluate, first aid, Good Samaritan Law
Activities: Open discuss followed by small group work and group presentations. Groups will construct thinking maps on the lesson.
Materials: Student Learning Plan, Student Text, Thinking Map® samples, Graphic Organizer samples, Signs Of Success Assessment Task

Lesson 9: Basic Command and Staff Principles / Objectives: Describe staff responsibilities and three common procedures used to coordinate staff actions
Compare the three types of staffs and their relationship to the commander, List the nine-step sequence of command and staff actions in the correct order, Clarify the scope and purpose of the commander's estimate
Define key words: coordinating staff, course of action, echelon, personal staff, special staff
Activities: Open discuss followed by small group work and group presentations. Groups will construct thinking maps on the lesson
