Week 1: Dorm Party

WEEK 1: DORM PARTY

During Operation Move It

•Introduce yourself to your Dorms’ RA. Let them know about Life Groups with XA in thedorm.

•For each new student you connect with,get:

•First and Last name (so you can follow them on socialmedia)

•Cell#

•Dorm and room#

•Any other info that you can find connection with (hobbies, sports, interestsetc)

Before Dorm Party

•Decide what you will be doing….(Examples: ice cream, video games, catch phraseetc.)

•Go Knock on your adopted floor and text each person you have met during Move In 3 hours before and invitepersonally.

•Pick up $$ for food from office inXA House.

•Go to dorms the 2 hours before and knock on doors andinvite.

•Arrive 30-45 min in advance to set uproom.

•When you arrive, secure community room where you will meet weekly forLG.

•Set up room so that people feel welcome. I.e., Put a chair to keep door open (So people feelthey can walk in any time, set up food,etc.)

•20 min before-knock on doors and invite again; One person stay in room and others go to lobby to invite when done (if you have students from last year, includethem!).

During Dorm Party

•Should last 60-90minutes.

•First 45-60 minutes: you are creating an environment where people are welcomed, hangingout and talking naturally. You should be going from groupings to groupings saying hello, introducing, get-ting to know, etc. Find ways you can relate to them and what they like. (Try to get cell #’s of each person in a naturalway.)

•Invite to Grill & Chill, to eat in cafeteria before TNL, XA House or somewhere to hang outagain.

(Note people will ask why you are hosting this: tell them who you are, who we are and briefly describe what life group is (Guys/Girls doing life together while learning how to follow Jesus)

•Last 15 minutes: tell them who you are and why you are hosting a DormParty.

SAY SOMETHING LIKE: Thanks for coming tonight. We will be meeting each week talking aboutlife, God, while getting to know one another. We will be in thisroomat PMevery .Ifyouknowanyof yourfriendswhowouldlikeapart,feelfreetobringwithyounextweek.Wewillbe

keep-ing in touch this week. You are welcome to stay as long as you want tonight. We will be here until the last person leaves.

After Dorm Party

•Within 24 hours, text each person who came. Thank them for coming and invite them to hangout.

•By the end of the week invite them personally to LG and a LGPost-Hangout.

•4-5 hours before next LG, text and personally (add name in each text) invite to LG. (Suggestion: Eat dinner together in the cafeteria before LG.) Knock on doors and connect eachweek!
