Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

We are excited about your wedding plans and upcoming marriage. Ask any happily married couple and they will say that you are about to enter the most enduring commitment of your life. It’s a relationship that they wouldn’t live without.

Calvary Church rejoices in the opportunity to share in this happy occasion with you. We are here to serve you and to do our best to make your wedding day one that is glorifying to God and a testimony to others.

We understand that your desire in having a Christian wedding is that God would fully bless your union all the days of your life. As you stand before Him asking for His blessing, we would encourage you to live a life that completely honors Him with your heart, soul, mind, body, and sexuality. Helping you do that will be part of the discussion times together.

This wedding manual has been prepared to help you with the organization and planning of your wedding. It has also been prepared to provide details regarding the church’s policy concerning weddings and fees.

We hope that we can help you to make this day one of the best days of your life.

Calvary Church Staff

We want the planning of your wedding to go as smoothly as possible, so we ask that you read the procedures below and follow their order. Check them off as you complete them so you will know where you are in the process.

  1. Complete the following forms found in this booklet:

Wedding Date Request and Fee Agreement

Wedding Fee Agreement Checklist

Bride and Groom Information Form

After completing these forms, please return them to the church office. They will be forwarded to the pastor you have chosen to perform the ceremony. You will be contacted in order to set up an initial wedding consultation with the pastor.

  1. After approval by your pastor, we will need a $75.00 non-refundable deposit turned into the church office. Your wedding date cannot be confirmed without this deposit.
  1. Your wedding can be secured up to one year prior to your wedding date.
  1. The Wedding Coordinator will contact you to set a meeting time to plan your ceremony.
  1. One week before the ceremony, the balance of fees for the ceremony must be turned into the church office.

Questions concerning this very special day can be answered

by the Wedding Coordinator.

In an effort to make the wedding a special day, to help the couple in planning, and to insure a good understanding with the church, the policies below have been set forth.

Please take the time to read each point prior to setting your wedding date at Calvary Church.

  1. All weddings must be approved by the Pastoral Staff.
  2. Couples will complete a “Wedding Request Form,” a “Wedding Information Form,” a “Background Information Form,” and sign a “Wedding Fees Agreement”up to one year prior to the scheduled date of the wedding.
  3. If a minister outside of the Pastoral Staff of Calvary Church is to take part or officiate, approval must be given by the Pastoral Staff.
  4. Postponement or decline from the pastoral staff member for reasons beyond schedule conflict will preclude the asking of another pastoral staff member.
  5. Pictures may be taken during the processional and recessional. It is recommended that pictures be taken 90 minutes before the ceremony.
  6. All couples agree to participate in pre-marital counseling – (length will be determined by each Pastoral Staff member) andattend “The Art of Marriage” seminar which is offered three or four times a year.

Contact the church office for a schedule of upcoming seminars. As part of the pre-marital counseling, you will also be asked to take “Prepare and Enrich Relationship Inventory”.

  1. All couples are to use the services of the Church Wedding Coordinator. The Wedding Coordinator is the officially approved person to be contacted in coordinating the services for your wedding, as well as the utilization of church facilities and equipment.
  2. Rehearsals are scheduled the day before your wedding by the Facility Coordinator. In the event there are church events planned in the Wedding Chapel, the day before your wedding, rehearsals may have to be scheduled throughout the week prior to the wedding ceremony. This is very unusual though.
  3. The order of service, including songs and lyrics, must be submitted to the wedding coordinator four weeks before the wedding. We reserve the right to approve all music and readings used in the wedding service.
  1. The couple is responsible for the following: Unity Candle, Flowers, Photographer, Aisle Runner, Cake, Beverages, Food, Reception Supplies, and Decorations. The couple is also responsible for decorating the chapel and reception areas.

Drip less candles for candelabras must be rented from Calvary Church which is included in your facility fees.

  1. The families of the couple are to provide ALL clean-up for the reception activities and kitchen. This includes dishwashing.
  1. The families of the couple are to provide ALL food preparation and serving at the reception.
  1. Couples will be responsible for damages, extra clean-up, or extraordinary charges attributed to the facilities during use.
  1. The use of alcohol is not allowed on church property, including the parking lot.
  1. Smoking is not permitted inside any part of the church building.
  1. Due to safety and clean-up problems, no rice, confetti, or birdseed may be thrown at any time on church property.
