/ I Know That is a website on which students (and parents) can choose games to play by Grade Level and Subject (Language Arts and other subject areas). It is not necessary to subscribe or create a login. / PreK-5

/ This site has links for every subject and grade level. It is meant to assist teachers with tools for K-12 classrooms, but has many interactive links that can be used at home.

KidBiz
/ This website provides students in grades 3 – 5 with non-fiction news articles written at their reading level. Students are encouraged to complete at least two articles and activities per week in the classroom; however, studies have shown that students who read more will improve their comprehension skills.
Note: Students must have a login and password to use the site, each child should know their login information. / 3-5 only

/ This site offers audio books and podcasts for purchase, but also has many free downloads of books and poetry.
Kids Reads
/ This is a site for teachers and students (ages 6-12) to find out about new book releases, read interviews with authors, play literary games, and find discussion questions for their own book club. / K-5

Card Catalog/Millennium (Book Renewal): / Membership is free and the library not only lends books, but rents videos and DVDs inexpensively. Read a book with your child and then rent a movie version to compare similarities and differences.
Use the library website to look up dates and times of events (Story Time and Summer Reading Club). The Children’s Room link offers additional links to Fun Websites. Older students can use the library’s link to the PA Power Library for research purposes.

PBS Kids Go -
PBS Parents - / PBS.org provides games related to shows your child may watch on public television channels. Some of the best programs and games for younger children are Between the Lions, Super Why! and Word World for learning letters, sounds, and words. (PreK – 2)
PBS Kids Go is for older students grades 2-4 and features activities from Word Girl, a program that builds vocabulary.
PBS Parents is a page that provides information and advice to parents including whatchildren learn in school grade by grade and how they learn. / PreK - 4
Reading Rockets
/ This site has reading programs that are featured on some PBS stations and that are also available online and via podcast.

Summer Activities

/ Read Write Think is a website created by the International Reading Association. It provides interactive games from ABC matching to poetry practice. This link will take you to the list of games, which includes a detailed description. Some games include printable materials (such as memory matching cards).
Read Write Think has organized some activities to support reading and writing over the summer on this section of the site. It is broken down into grade levels and provides ideas for creating books, after reading activities, book lists, and online tools. / K-5+

The parent portion of the site offers of host of resources and articles related to school, reading, and activities to do at home. Each of the parent sections are broken down by grade levels from Preschool to 8th grade to ease searching. / PreK-5+

Story Line Online

Time For Kids
/ The Time For Kids website includes links to non-fiction articles from the current issue of the magazine geared for grades K-1, 2-3, and 4-6. Your child may receive copies of these in school that they are permitted to bring home, ask them to read to you! / All
Weekly Reader Online / This site includes some word search and crossword puzzle games, along with other educational games. The site does not provide articles; however, if your child is in 3rd grade, they receive these in school and are able to bring them home to read with you. / 2-5
WordPlays
/ This site features an assortment of word games including: anagram builders, a crossword puzzle helper, a word un-scrambler, and a "boggler." It has a built-in dictionary to look up unfamiliar words. / 3-5+
