WILDLANDS CHALLENGE
Adventure Race

Breakaway Sports, www.makebreak.com will be hosting a 3 and 5 person team adventure race at Blue Marsh Lake in Bernville, Pa. The race will be held rain or shine. *If you do not have a full team, but are interested in racing, contact us for assistance in either finding a teammate(s), or joining another team. 610-775-4614 or www.makebreak.com.
Registration: Entries must be post marked by Sept. 10th. (Race limit is 45 teams). No race day registration
Race starts at 9am. (Pre race meeting at 8am).
***There is a $3 per car park fee.
Divisions: Coed (at least one person of opp sex), male, female and masters (all members 40+). There will be coed masters divisions if at least 3 teams fit that category.
Distance: Running, biking, canoeing and additional challenges. The total race distance is approx. 27 miles.
Entry fee per team: FIVE person team- $350 THREE person team- $210.
Includes: Canoes, life vests and paddles. (You may not bring your own). No extra insurance costs on race day.
The goods: Imprinted tech race-shirt, socks, energy bars, plus other
goodies and free hot catered food after the race.
Support crew and additional long sleeve race shirts can be pre-ordered at $10.00 each. (See waiver for details.)
Awards: First place team in each division. 2nd and 3rd place teams in each division. (Based on #’s – 5 and 10 per div. respectively).
Race Details: Race legs: Teams will only learn the race leg distances at the 8am pre-race meeting. Everyone needs a Mt. bike.
Support: Every team will need at least one support crew member, two suggested, with a vehicle (s) that can hold FIVE bikes.
ENTRY LIMITED TO FIRST 45 TEAMS
- Registration will be on Sunday morning from 7:00am-8:00am. Check-in is to occur at the start/finish area which is in the Dry Brooks Day Use/ swimming beach at the Blue Marsh Lake. Parking will be available in the lower lots near the beach area. Check-in closes promptly at 8:00 am. Race starts at 9am.
- Pre-race meeting will be Sunday morning at 8am. The race details and events will be disclosed at that time.
- Your support crew will be given instructions and directions to checkpoints on race morning.
- For the canoe leg, each team is responsible for navigating Blue Marsh Lake.
- Each team will be provided with canoe paddles and PFDs.
- There will be two timed cut-off points in the race. Any team that misses a cut-off will be considered unranked. This should not be a problem for any team that keeps moving throughout the race.
