2015 SEASON GUIDELINES

Team Eligibility

  1. The tournament is open to all interested players and teams.

Divisions

  1. Teams will be grouped into divisions based on relative strength and ageas determined by MPG and the teams.Most divisions will have 6 teams although some may have 8, 5, or 4.
  2. Teams will only play against those in their division for their respective championships.
  3. There is no limit to the number of divisions an individual can play in. The only restriction is that he cannot play for two teams in the same division.

Tournament Format

  1. Teams will play a guaranteed five (5) games and a possible maximum of seven (7) games.
  2. All semis and final games will be knockout matches.
  3. For 6 team divisions, the top 4 seeds advance to the semis and finals. If there is an undefeated team, that team will go to the finals. The 3rd seed plays the 4th seed and the winner faces the 2nd seed for the other slot in the finals. If no team is undefeated, the two semifinal matches will have the 1st vs. 4th and 2nd vs. 3rd seeds. The winners advance to the finals.
  4. For 8 team divisions, the semis will involve the top team of each group and the next two with the best records. For 5 team divisions, teams play a single round robin, one classification match between the 1st and 2nd seed with the winner going to the finals, and a step-ladder knockout format for the remaining teams and the loser of the classification match.

  1. Complete stats are atthe league website;
  2. Each division will have a MVP, Best Defender, and Mythical Five.

Schedule and Venues

  1. The tournament will be held between July 4and August 30.
  2. Games will be scheduled on weekends.
  3. Possible venues include but are not limited to theReyes Gym,APC, NEGA, North Greenhills, FCL Center, and Toby’s.

Uniforms

  1. Each team must have one dark and one white or one reversible jersey andone set of uniform shorts. Only players in uniforms will be allowed to play.
  2. All non-Ateneo uniforms (jerseys and shorts) must have the same design and color.
  3. ABL and other Ateneo uniforms may be used in different combinations. Only the same shades (blue or white) are required for the games. Instructions for teams or players looking to order ABL uniforms will be advised at a later date.

Tournament Fees

FOURTEEN THOUSAND PESOS (PHP 14,000.00) PER TEAM (subject to EVAT case to case basis).

Payment procedures are indicated on the registration form.

Timetable

  1. Friday, June 19- Submission of initial rosters
  2. Wednesday, June 24- Deadline for settlement of tournament fees
  3. Saturday, June 27andor July 4- General Assembly (venue/time TBA)
  4. Saturday, July 4 or 11 - Start of tournament
  5. Sunday, August 30-Latest end of tournament

Registration and Payment Procedures

  1. All interested teams should accomplish this form and email to on or before Friday, June 19. Rosters may still be freely changed until the general assembly on June 27 and/or July 3.
  2. Teams may settle the PHP 14,000.00 fee on or before Wednesday, June 24 via direct deposit to Metrobank Xavier Ortigas Branch Savings Account number 344-3-34450857-8. Account name is Management Partners Group Inc. Deposit can be via any Metrobank branch.
  3. Check payments should be made out to Management Partners Group Inc.After making a deposit, email to  a copy of the deposit slip with a clear teller’s validation.
  4. Indicate the name of your team, team rep, and contact number on the deposit slip.
