Introductionto

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (Act)

Mindflow is providing a two day experiential workshop introducing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (Act) for clinicians wishing to improve their knowledge and understanding of this third wave CBT. The two day training event will provide individuals with information about the six core processes of the model and be taught both didactically and experientially.

Learn how to achieve greater psychological flexibility for yourself and the clients you work with through:

• Acceptance

• Defusion

• Self as context

• Commitment

• Values

• Mindfulness

The aim of this training is to equip participants both experientially and theoretically with the relevant skills for them to be able to start using these concepts in their personal and working life, or for those who are already aware of the model but wish to refresh and consolidate their skills further.

This teacher training programme will be taught by Dr Katy Roe, Clinical Psychologist working in Adult mental Health and who qualified from Liverpool University in 2006 and Dr Gemma Hollington, Clinical Psychologist in Adult Mental Health and Physical Health who qualified from Manchester University in 2005.

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is more people who have come alive. Howard Thurman (American Philosopher)
