Dear Parents,11/29/17

We want to let you know that on Friday, our student council members will explainour school-wide Christmas giving project. Every year we encourage students to give toward a need and alternate international and local ministries each year. We explained to the students that this is their opportunity to give and that while they may ask others to contribute, we all need to learn to be generous. It was suggested that they complete chores at home or for neighbors and grandparents to be able to give to the Lord’s work. The tooth fairy is known to occasionally toss in a little extra for good causes.

Our students are divided into seven different teams and each team has adopted an area non-profit to encourage and bless. On Friday, 11/17, we visited each location and gathered ideas on Christmas donations that would help them in their work.

Each team has come up with three suggested giving items, however, any student can bring donations for any of the seven teams. The team teacher that receives the greatest number of items for their team will willingly complete the following challenge determined by the student council: the teacher will dance and sing “All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth” with passion and the recorded video will be put on facebook with the hope it will go viral. Something was mentioned about pie and six inch heels so who knows how the challenge will be amended before the close of the contest. At any rate, it will be a wonderful opportunity for the winning teacher.

The two week giving project will start Monday, December 4 and run through Friday, December 15. During this time, students may bring in items or cash donations will be accepted ($1 = 1 item).

We have attached a shopping list outlined both by team/teacher and by category. Call the school office if you have any questions.

We will share a daily update on the school website homepage under news and events.
