Dear Students:

The carnival comes to town twice a year. Excitement can be felt in the air as people are whisked away on rides, screams can be heard on roller coasters, and the smell of corn dogs, fries, and cotton candy just lingers all around. Furthermore, who can resist all those cuddly stuffed animals that are hung here and there in each and every booth shouting, “Come Win Me and Take Me Home with thee!”

Well, this year at the carnival we have seven exciting games that patrons can play: Rolling Dice, Bottle Bowling, Fish Bowl, Weigh in on that!, Pin the Wing, Colors, and Spin it! We have given you the cost to play each game, the rules of play, and the prizes associated with each win. We would like for you to look at the information provided, and write a letter to our company explaining the order in which you would play these carnival games and the procedures you used in establishing this order. Furthermore, include the calculations (work shown and answers) you will use to help you determine the ranking order of these games.

We look forward to receiving your teams’ feedback.

Sincerely,

Count Quarter
