My name is Cadet Captain Jacob Mills, S-1 of the Purple Battalion and I would like to welcome you to the 10th Annual Bowling Green JROTC Military Ball. Would you please stand for the posting of the colors, and remain standing for the playing of the National Anthem.

Lord we come to you in prayer to thank you for the many guests that are in attendance tonight, Also, God be with the many soldiers fighting over seas defending our country and placing their lives on the line, and please bless this food to the nourishment of our bodies and bless the ones that have prepared it in Jesus name we pray Amen.

Deborah Williams is a graduate of Bowling Green High School and Western Kentucky University. She retired from her 32 year career as a banker in 2005. Her expertise in lending and Community Development has been extensive and she was involved in Neighborhood Revitalization efforts across Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio. She was the founder and current CEO of Housing Assistance and Development Services, Inc. (HANDs) when it began in May 1993. She was instrumental in founding over 20 organizations across South Central Kentucky. She also has served on the Bowling Green Board of Education for 20 years and currently serves as Vice Chairperson. She was name Athena (Business Woman of the Year) in 1996. She was honored in 2005 with Induction to the Bowling Green High School Alumni Hall of Honor.

She has been married to Rick Williams for 38 years and has two daughters Casey Williams Rouse, 28 and Kristen Williams, 21. Both she and Rick graduated from Bowling Green High in 1972 and her daughters are also graduates of Bowling Green High. These days she enjoys her role as Gigi to her little grandson Hunter Mason Rouse, who is 2 ½ years old. He will be a Purple, too.
