We Are The Bronx (WATB) Fellowship is currently accepting applications from Bronx non-profit leaders.
WATB is a professional development and networking program geared towardsstrengthening local leaders, agencies, and the Bronx.This cohort will meet from October 2012 to June 2013.
The application deadline is Tuesday, July 31, 2012.
We Are The Bronx Fellowship Highlights
Monthly professional development seminars addressing core non-profit skills
Participate in monthly committee meetings focused on grant-making or community organizing
Meet with Bronx and Citywide leaders and funders
Network and build relationships with other Bronx organizations and professionals
Gain access to additional resources and best practices
Receive a certificate of accomplishment at closing ceremony from HostosCommunity College
We Are The Bronx Fellowship Objectives
The WATB Fellowshipconnects mid-to-senior level professionals with fellow leaders and experts in the non-profit world. Through 9 months of Bronx-focused trainings and hands-on activities, WATB aims to help Fellows achieve the following objectives:
Networking Skills: Fellows will have increased confidence in their ability to build connections with other
professionals through networking.
PartnershipBuilding: Fellows will improve their ability to build sustainable and successful partnerships
with other Fellows, seminar speakers, and member agencies.
Leadership & Professional Skills: Fellows will strengthen their non-profit professional skills and
gain a better understanding of their personal leadership style.
Community Awareness: Fellows will increase their awareness of existing communities and
agencies in the Bronx, as well as the issues that the borough faces.
Professional Use of Self: Fellows will improve their understanding and awareness of their role within
their agency and will effectively use their knowledge and skills.
The We Are The Bronx Fellowship is a project of the Center for Bronx Non-Profits (CBNP), which is
generously funded by the J.P. Morgan Chase Foundation and receives consultation from Hostos Community
College and CAUSE-NY, the intergroup relations division of the Jewish Community Relations Council of NY.

Short Answer Questions
Please answer each of the following questions separately in no more than two pages:
- Describe your position and role at your agency.
- Identify three talents you possess, as well as three skills you would like to develop through the Fellowship.
- Describe a major issue impacting the Bronx, how it affects your agency or community, and possible solutions.
- The WATB Fellowship requires a time commitment of at least two monthlymorning meetings. How will you ensure your commitment to the Fellowship?

Letter of Recommendation
The letter of recommendation must come from a supervisor or Board Member. The recommender should speak to the skills and attributes possessed by the applicant and to the goals the applicant has for their agency as a result of participation in the Fellowship. Once completed, it should be placed in a sealed and signed envelope and be submitted with the rest of the application materials or e-mailed by the recommender.
Agency Commitment Letter
The WATB Fellowship will require a minimum commitment of 5 hours per month (divided between two mornings). Therefore, we ask that the Executive Director submit a statement affirming the applicant’s commitment to the Fellowship and a guarantee that the applicant will be able to attend all Fellowship meetings and fulfill all requirements. (This may be included in the letter of recommendation if it is written by the agency’s Executive Director. If the applicant is the Executive Director, s/heis exempt from submitting an agency commitment letter, but will still need a letter of recommendation from a Board Member.)

Interview
WATB Fellowship staff will review the materials submitted by each candidate and invite select applicants for interviews.
