Practical Information

Please find below some practical information you can make use of when visiting the Library of the Hungarian Parliament.

  1. Entering the building:

-Visitors can enter the territory of the House of Parliament at the Southern checkpoint near Gate I (at the exit of Kossuth tér station of metro line M2).

-You can enter the building through Gate XXV as shown on the map.

-In order to enter the building, each visitor is obliged

to prove their ID with the help of an adequate verifying document (a valid ID card, passport or driving licence)

-Each person can only enter the House of Parliament after undergoing a security check. Larger bags and any objects that may cause harm or injury to others (e.g. knives, pocketknives, defence-spray etc.) cannot be carried into the building. Hence it is also prohibited to carry weapons, guns, explosives, ammunition, pyrotechnic tools or any equipment suitable for using such objects and materials.

-The entrance card/watch received on admission must be retained until the end of your tour and must be returned when leaving the building. The price of lost entrance cards/watches (HUF 3.600) is to be paid for.

-You will be received by staff members of the Library of Parliament library’s entrance.

-You are kindly requested to use your designated route only during your stay!
