Organised in partnership with the Cross Sector Safety and Communication initiative (CSSC), the Joint Security Associations Fundraising Event for 2016 will be held on 25th October at the Grange City Hotel, a spectacular five star venue with a Roman Wall running through the bar terrace and views overlooking the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. This will be a prestigious black tie event, and will provide those attending the perfect opportunity to network with colleagues, entertain guests or simply enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, whilst at the same time helping to support two outstandingly worthwhile charities.
WCoSP - Security Benevolent Fund (SBF) –
Founded in 2006 the SBF identified a need to create a safety net for the most vulnerable people working in and retired from the security profession, the blue-light services and the armed forces. Many people working in security on the front line are at the lower end of pay scales and often when illness or injury strikes they need help, guidance or support to return to work or to a normal life.
Since the fund was established there has been a steady increase in applications for help from across the security profession and the SBF aims to provide financial or other practical welfare support for those who cannot pay for urgent medical treatment or find themselves in hard times and need help.
Over the Wall –
Over The Wall camps allow seriously ill and life-threatened children to 'kick back' and have fun in a range of recreational and educational activities, completely free of charge. They encourage campers to reach beyond the perceived limitations of their illness and rediscover a whole world of possibilities, helping to build confidence, self esteem, coping strategies and peer relationships. The key to their success is the volunteers, who donate their time and skill sets to help make the camps run. They enable a child to turn around and say 'I did it', especially when they never thought possible. Over The Wall does not receive any Government funding so relies entirely on the generosity of individuals, trusts & foundations and corporate donors who believe in what they do and who they serve.
