Waushara County 4-H

Leaders Association Scholarship

Each year a predetermined number of $100 scholarships are available to 4-H members in their senior year of high school or their first year at an institution of post high-school education at the time of application. Scholarships will be paid directly to the recipient at the annual Achievement Program.

General selection criteria:

a. involvement at multiple levels of 4-H

b. demonstrated leadership

c. sense of direction in furthering education

d. financial need

Selection procedure :

a. Applicant is to secure a letter of recommendation from someone familiar with their accomplishments and future career goals. The letter of reference is not to come from a parent/guardian of the applicant or the 4-H Youth Development Agent. The letter of recommendation can be submitted with the application or mailed separately to the UW-Extension Office.

b. Applications and letter of reference are to be received by the UW-Extension office by the date designated on the Waushara County 4-H Awards Application Form. Forms can be hand delivered to the office located in the basement of the Courthouse or mailed to UW-Extension, P.O. Box 487, Wautoma, WI 54982.

c. Applicants participate in an interview on a Sunday afternoon in January.

d. Notification of selection will be mailed within two weeks of the interview.
