F.A.Q.

Question: I want to do more runs but I don’t have a partner, what can I do?

Answer: You can tick the box for a random draw and you will be allocated another partner.

Question: What does it mean Sanctioned Open Ranch Sorting?

Answer: The sanctioned class is one which is recorded into the RSNCA data base, you can accumulate points with RNSCA, which is a worldwide rating for all ranch sorters so you can move up to be rating at a higher level.

Question: What is the Unsanctioned class?

Answer: Unsanctioned class means that the score of rider is not entered into the RSNCA data base, so no record of rating is kept. The unsanctioned class is offered by WATPA as a club event, we offer it at a reduced rate (dependant on cattle cost – added cattle levy). This event is run using numbered ratings. If we run a No. 7 class for example – the rider ratings can be a 5 & 2, 4 & 3. WATPA will be rating riders based on abilities.

Question: What is Beginner Ranch Hand?

Answer: This is a class for people who have never ranch sorted before. They are allocated an experienced person who is their gate person and they are the sorter who brings the cows out and pushes them through the gate.

Question: What is the difference between Junior and Juvenile?

Answer: Junior rider is over 8 and under 13 years.

Juvenile is over 13 and under 18 years.
