A second pair of sneakers is recommended for the field house gymnasium floor. T-shirts must be long enough to tuck into your shorts. Your clothes must be kept in your assigned locker- remember to keep your locker number confidential. (Please take your clothes home and wash them from time to time!) Jewelry, hats, and gum are not allowed. Unprepared students will lose points from their daily grade.
If you are unprepared for class, the teachers will provide some clothes and sneakers to loan out. If you refuse to use what is provided you will be considered insubordinate.
EXCUSES:
A doctor’s note is needed if you are unable to participate in more than one day of class. If you have a medical excuse, the doctor will be asked to be specific- (indicating activities you may be able to participate in such as swimming, etc).
Additionally, you will be graded on written assignments or by helping in class. It is your responsibility to see the teacher to get an assignment!
A note from home is good for one day only. You may be given an assignment to read and summarize an article.
ABSENCES, FIELD TRIPS, MUSIC LESSONS (LEGAL EXCUSES):
Make certain you see the respective physical education teacher to find out what you’ve missed, and how to make the class up. Missing classes will affect your grade. The State mandates that to receive credit for physical education, you must be present and participate in classes. Classes can be made up by running 1 ½ miles and performing specific exercises as set up by the physical education staff. Swimming make-ups will consist of lessons and by swimming laps. Illegal absences CAN NOT be made up.

You have 5 minutes to change after the bell rings. You have 4-7 minutes to change at the end of class (depending on the activity). Students will meet inside the gym awaiting dismissal. You may not leave until the bell rings.
ATHLETES:
Athletes must participate in physical education class in order to participate in that evenings practice or game. Note that this is included in the athletic eligibility document that you and your parents signed.
EQUIPMENT/FACILITY:

Do NOT climb any part of the bleachers when they are closed. Do not enter the facility (including the locker room concrete hallway) from the outdoors with cleats or muddy sneakers. No one is allowed inside the Field House (to include the gymnasium, track, fitness room, locker rooms, etc) without an employee from the district (coach or teacher).
