Agenda items & Discussion Points / Action points
1 / David Alford (from Global WASH Cluster, UNICEF Geneva) is supporting the WASH Cluster to strengthen the Information Management System and this involves consultation with all relevant stakeholders at national and sub-national levels. He gave a detailed presentation about his mission in Bangladesh and this covered the following areas:
·  Introduction – What is Information Management?
·  Some examples from transition countries
·  Mission ToRs
·  Objectives
·  Major Deliverables
·  Modalities for implementation of ToR / ·  David to present his findings and recommendations to WASH cluster members during the last week of his mission in Bangladesh
·  WASH Cluster coordinator to facilitate the necessary logistics for David’s mission and meeting with all relevant stakeholders.
2 / Syed Adnan Ibna Hakim presented WASH Cluster’s 2016 key activities with all cluster members for their comments and cooperation. WASH Cluster’s key activities for 2016 are:
·  Review WASH in Emergency Operational Guideline (April– Sept. 2016)
·  Translate Operational Guideline into Bangla (Oct-Dec 2016)
·  Finalize Contingency Plan – WASH in Cyclone (April-June 2016)
·  Operationalization of District Focal Agencies – Capacity Development [20 Districts] : (May-June 2016) / ·  UNICEF WASH Section will engage one national consultant to revise WASH in Emergency Operational Guideline-Bangladesh
·  WASH Cluster will form a technical working group to support DFA capacity development initiative at district level.
·  In addition to the activities already identified, the WASH Cluster plan for the year will include some of the recommended activities from the ongoing mission on strengthening the WASH Cluster Information Management System.
3 / Mr. Shahid Kamal from TdH international gave a presentation on UN Joint Response: WASH Component. Key points of his presentations are
·  UN joint response program is on-going at Kurigram and Gaibandha.
·  1200 emergency resilient latrines to be constructed in most affected communities
·  1200 hand washing devices to be installed in most affected communities
·  2500 WASH NFI kits to be distributed in most affected communities / ·  Regular updates on implementation of the project will be presented at cluster meetings.
4 / Mr. Rizwan from NGO Forum gave a detail presentation on WASH in Emergency intervention implementation in Cox’s Bazar district to address affected host communities at Ukhia and Teknaf. He shared expected outputs, methodology and major task of on-going WASH in Emergency interventions.
Output 1: 400 emergency latrine construction and 200 existing broken down latrines rehabilitated in host communities
Output 2: 500 hygiene awareness sessions conducted and 1,200 hand washing devices and 2,000 hygiene kits distributed
Output 3: 50 bathing cubicles constructed / ·  Regular updates on implementation of the project will be presented at cluster meetings.
·  WASH Cluster members encouraged to share their WASH in Emergency intervention experience in cluster meetings

·  Discussions on WASH Cyclone contingency plan.
·  Discussions on update of 4W matrix for WASH Cluster.
·  Capacity building for WASH Cluster members.
·  Urban Emergency Preparedness and Response.
·  Rotation on hosting of WASH Cluster meetings among members. / ·  WASH Cluster Coordinate to request WASH Cluster members to share their contingency plan for harmonization.
·  Need to liaise with Nutrition cluster for clarification of the 4W tools presently being disseminated.
·  Need to conduct assessment of WASH in urban areas as part of the mechanism for emergency preparedness.
·  Rotation on hosting of WASH Cluster meeting to be discussed at the next meeting to develop the schedule for hosting.
