OBJECTIVE:
To provide the student with a survey of basic anatomical and physiological topicsas directed by the Utah State Board of Education and the Health and Technology division of Career and Technical Education. To satisfy the Utah state core curriculum for basic chemistry. These topics include,medical terminology, exercise science, sports medicine, body plan and anatomical direction, skin, digestion, reproduction, muscular system, endocrine system, skeletal system and the nervous system. We also discuss the ethics guiding professionals involved in health care. We study the relevancy of these topics in our daily lives and the types of careers available in the health care profession.

CLASS POLICY:
Please be to class on time and prepared. Tardys will be marked and will affect your
Grade. If you are absent on a test or quiz day you have one week to make up the test or quiz.
If you have an X or are asked to leave the class because of disruptive behavior, you will not be
allowed to make up the assignments or tests missed.
This is primarily a lecture, note taking class, attendance is crucial to your success.
There will be a research paper every term. The due date for the paper and the topic will be
Clearly established and posted.
Those students who fall behind will be placed in “intervention” which is a program designed to
Facilitate student learning.
Cheating will not be tolerated. If you are caught once, your parents will be notified.
If you are caught twice, you will fail the class.
