South Western Youth Spirit camp

For Boys and Girls

A fun summer camp for both boys and girls. The camp includes hip hop dancing, choosing a mascot, gymnastics, and stunting for boys. Gymnastics, stunting, jumps, and dancing for girls. Plus fun activities like tie-dying t-shirts and making parts of our performance costumes. The last day is a performance for friends and family!

***THIS SUMMER CAMP REPLACES THE FALL CAMP HELD THE PREVIOUS 2 YEARS

Practice Dates:

Wednesday’s-

July 1st, 8th, 14th, and 22nd

Performance day: Saturday July 25th

Registrations start 30 minutes before your session on the first day. All other days just arrive a few minutes early. All boys go in the same class regardless of age.

K-1st grade- 5pm-6pm

2nd and 3rd grade- 5:45pm-7pm

4th, 5th and 6th grade- 6:45pm-8pm

Boy’s classes-all ages- 6pm-7pm

Performance on Saturday the 25th. Students should arrive between 8:30 and 9am to warm up. Performance will start at 10am.

CAMP COSTS:

Camp includes a custom t-shirt this year that the kids will Tie-dye. You will also receive 2 performance day tickets. Camp is $25 for all 4 weeks. To adequately perform a solid routine we encourage everyone to attend at least 2 practices. Extra performance day tickets are $1 a person. Children under 5 are free.

Each participant will receive a certificate and gift for attending. Girls receive a hair bow and boys make their own mascot masks.

If you have latex allergies please let us know, rubber bands are used in making the tie dye shirts. We will use different dye and rubber bands.

Please email questions and RSVP to Elizabeth Tudor at by June 25th. Late signups can be added up until June 30th if there is room.

Include your child’s name, gender, grade, and t-shirt size including youth or adult.

Camp includes:

For girls: rotation of gymnastics, cheer style dance, stunting, tie dye t-shirt, picking a hair bow, decorate posters for back drop, face painting

For boys: gymnastics, hip hop style dance, mascot class, tie dye t-shirt, decorate a mask, decorate posters for back drop, face painting

Please RSVP by June 25th. Last minute additions can added after as long as there is room. Keep in mind that we are inviting all K-6 graders and are limited on numbers we can accept. Please bring waiver forms with you on the first day of the activity. Payment needs to be made on the first day of attendance and a charge will be added for any returned checks. In order to participate, you must sign the Camp Release/ Medical permission form.

Bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes and proper tennis shoes. Hair must be pulled back and all jewelry must be taken off to participate in stunting. Safety must always come first!!!

Instructors will be our current High school and JH coaches, and Cheerleaders. Our coaches are safety certified and will only teach age appropriate stunts, tumbling, material, and dances.

On our performance day we will have each age group do a performance with a grand finale of all ages performing together. You are welcome to bring a camera and take video and pictures as well as getting pictures afterwards with our cheerleaders or mustang mascot!

NEW TSHIRT INFO:

There will be a new custom design and logo each year. WE WILL BE USING SODA ASH AND BETTER DYE THIS YEAR FOR BRIGHTER COLORS. MOST IMPORTANTLY THE TSHIRTS WILL BE SENT HOME WITH DIRECTIONS WITH THE STUDENTS TO RINSE AND WASH AT HOME.

There will also be a baked goods table and SPIRIT related items for sale on our performance day, in the lobby such as t-shirts, umbrellas, hair bows, and more!

Camp Release, Indemnification, and Medical Permission

This agreement is entered into on this (date), by and between South Western School District, it subsidiaries, successors and/or assigns, and any or all of their officers, directors, owners, agents, members, contractors, and employees as the party of the first part, and ______(the Participant), and if Participant is a minor, Participant’s parent or guardian, ______, as the party of the second part.

In consideration for participation in Cheerleading Camp and the use of the property, facilities, services, and instruction of South Western School District today, an on all future days, the Participant, his or her parent or guardian, and all of their heirs, assigns and personal representatives, hereby agree to the following:

1.  The Participant understand that as in all athletic endeavors there are risks in and around the Competition including but not limited to injury, sickness, and in some cases death. The Participant agrees to assume any and all risks arising out of or related to the Competition, including, without limitation, the risks of physical or emotional injury, sickness, death, property damage, falls, collision with people or stationary objects, the unavailability of emergency medical care, and/or the negligence and/or deliberate act of another person.

2.  The Participant hereby agrees to indemnify, defend and hold South Western School District harmless from, any and all liability, claims, causes of action, suits, controversies, judgments, demands, injuries, sickness, damages (including consequential damages), costs, expenses, attorneys’ fees and/or any other legal, equitable or administrative actions or proceedings whatsoever, arising our of or related to this agreement, the Participant or the Participant’s involvement in the Competition, including but not limited to, any challenge by the Participant to this agreement or any provision thereof, legal or otherwise, or any suit, action or proceeding brought by the Participant.

3.  The Participant agrees that this agreement shall apply, without limitations, to any other risks encountered by the Participant before, during or after the Competition, whether or not the Participant knows or expects them to exist at the time of signing this agreement, including but not limited to driving to or from the Competition, being present in any facility at which the Competition is held, slips, falls, stairs, exits, entrances, fire and/or any other occurrence or event, known or unknown.

4.  The Participant, or the Participant’s parent or guardian, authorizes South Western School District to transport or authorize transportation of the Participant to a medical facility and/or hospital and for World Wide Sports to authorize emergency medical treatment to the Participant.
