In the event of teams finishing equal on points, the side with the higher Net Run Rate will qualify.

  1. Matches are of one innings per side, each innings being limited to a maximum of 20 overs.
1.1 Teams should aim to bowl their 20 overs within 80 minutes.
1.2 Batsmen should aim to be ready to receive the next ball within 90 seconds of the fall of the previous wicket.
1.3 There will be an interval of not more than 10 minutes between innings.
1.4 No drinks breaks will be taken.
1.5 Hours of play will be 4pm to 6.50pm
  1. Teams may be composed of 12 players. Only 11 may bat. Fielders may be rotated. A minimum of seven players is required to constitute a match.
  1. Interruptions
3.1 The object should always be to rearrange the number of overs so that both teams have the opportunity of batting for the same number of overs.
3.2 The minimum number of overs per team required to constitute a match is 5.
3.3 The number of overs available should be calculated by allowing one over per 4 minutes available.
3.4 If an interruption occurs after the first team has batted, the target shall by set by Duckworth-Lewis if CricHQ is available, or by the rain rule set out in the Division 1 rules if it is not.
3.5 Teams may, if weather appears to threaten the chance of a result, agree on an earlier finishing team before the game. Calculations for overs played can then be worked out on this time.
  1. In the event of a tie in a round-robin match, it will be termed a tie. If a tie occurs in a semi-final or final match, the team higher qualified in the round robin will be determined the winner.
  1. Fielding restrictions
5.1 There may be no more than 5 fielders on the leg-side.
5.2 For the first 6 overs of each innings only 2 fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard circle. Where a circle is not marked, the teams should establish distances.
5.3 For the remaining overs, no more than 5 fielders may be outside the 30-yard circle.
  1. Bowling restrictions
6.1 No bowler may bowl more than 4 overs.
6.2 In a reduced-overs match, no bowler may bowl more than 1/5 of the overs, except where the total overs are not divisible by 5, and an additional over may be added to the least number of bowlers.
  1. Bowlers are permitted to bowl one short-pitched delivery per over (i.e. above the shoulder in the batsman’s normal stance).
7.1 A delivery that passes above the shoulder, if one has already been bowled, will be signalled no-ball.
7.2 If a short-pitched delivery passes above the batsman’s head in his normal stance, and is not a no-ball, it will be signalled wide.
  1. No-balls
8.1 For this competition, any full toss above waist height, irrespective of pace, will be called no-ball.
8.2 All other no-ball faults (front foot, underarm, bouncing more than twice, fielding restrictions, bouncers, etc.) will apply.
  1. Free hit after a no-ball
9.1 After any no-ball, the subsequent delivery shall be a free hit for the batsman facing it. If it is also a no-ball or wide, then the next delivery also becomes a free hit.
9.2 Field changes are only permitted for free hit deliveries if there is a change of striker.
  1. Division 1 wide rules will apply.
  1. New balls to be used. Good quality Kookaburra branded four-piece balls are to be used in this competition irrespective of the surface being played on.
  1. Helmets are required for all batsmen, and wicket-keepers must wear approved full-face helmets when standing up to the stumps.
  1. Results must be entered via CricHQ, either by live-scoring or manual entry, by 5pm the day following the match. Teams listed first for each fixture are responsible for ensuring this occurs, and risk forfeiting points if they do not.
