The objective of this document is to outline the Scholarships available from the WAG Judges Assembly, their objectives and eligibility requirements.
1.2 Scope
This document covers the objective, eligibility requirements and submission dates for each scholarship which are to be offered by the Judges Assembly each year.
1.2.1Terms
“Scholarship” - refers to receiving monies from the Judges Assembly to go towards the cost of attending specific events.
“Regional” - refers to areas not considered Metropolitan (i.e. Lancelin to Bunbury).

The target audience for this scholarship are judges from regional areas who are looking to gain further experience, knowledge and qualifications.
2.1.2Aims & Objectives
- To assistjudges from regional and remote areas of WA in gaining more experience by attending Perth blockbuster competition weekends
- To help develop experienced judges in the regional community, who are then able to use their knowledge to further develop judges in their area
- To assist regional judges in acquiring higher levels of qualifications
- To help support the continuing education of judges in regional areas
2.2Specific Requirements
- Hold a minimum Beginner WAG Judging Accreditation
- Be an active judging member in their region
- Preference will be given to Intermediate judges, or judges who have indicated that they will be sitting a Intermediate judges course that year
- Preference will be given to judges from areas without any/many judges
2.3Scholarship Entitlements
Judges who are awarded a Regional Judging Scholarship will receive the following:
- $500 dollars to assist with travel costs to a specific event/Judges course
- Certificate
A maximum of 2 Regional Scholarships for Education Support and 2 for Metropolitan Blockbuster Weekend Judging Experience will be awarded each year.
2.4Submission Dates
WAG Judging Scholarship form needs to be submitted to no later than COBFriday 26th June, 2015.
- National Exposure Scholarship
3.1Purpose
3.1.1Target Judges
Advanced judges who are looking to further develop theirjudging skills towards Advanced Silver judging accreditation or judging at National Championships.
3.1.2Aims & Objectives
- To assist WA judges in gaining more experience by attending large inter-state competitions
- To help develop more experienced judges in WA, who are then able to use their knowledge to further develop judges in WA
- To help support the continuing education of judges in WA, through exposure to interstate competitions
3.2Specific Requirements
- Hold a minimum Advanced WAG Judging Accreditation
- Be an active judging member for their club
- Preference will be given to Advanced judges (who have not judged at National Championships)
- Preference will be given to judges from clubs without any/many Advanced+ judges
3.3Scholarship Entitlements
Judges who are awarded NationalExposureScholarship will receive the following:
- $750 dollars to assist with travel costs to a specific event
- Certificate
A maximum of 2 National Exposure Scholarships will be awarded each year.
3.4Submission Dates
WAG Judging Scholarship form needs to be submitted to GWA, on the same day Judge Nomination Forms are due (if applying for Travel with a Second State Team).Otherwise, scholarship forms need to be submitted no later than COBFriday 5th June, 2015.
