Below are examples of some reasons for nominations that were found to reflect the purpose of the Voucher Reward Scheme well:

Volunteered to create a presentation regarding roles and responsibilities of the team and communicated this to colleagues at staff meetings. This resulted in all staff having a clearer understanding of the processes and procedures undertaken.
In conjunction with the usual responsibilities of their role, has demonstrated commitment by working in the afternoons for two weeks, clearing out rooms and sorting various types of waste and recycling. This was dealt with in a cheerful and positive manner.

Voucher rewards should not normally be used for the following:

- Holiday/sickness absence cover (long term cover may be subject to additional payment but through other processes e.g. Acting Up Allowance, payment of additional hours etc.)

- Undertaking the responsibilities outlined in an employee’s job description

- To reward acts of excellence or exceptional effort that are expected to take place in the future

- To reward an improvement in poor performance to an acceptable level
