PTA EVENTS/ACTIVITIES: 2012-2013

Room Parent – There is a head room parent that will be responsible for helping the teacher organize classroom parties and will attend PTA Board meetings. If one is not available to be a head room parent but would like to help out when possible, you may sign up and the head room parent will contact you when extra help is needed.

Uniform Exchange – You can donate gently used uniforms that are no longer needed so that other children can use them.

Movie Nights – A few nights a year, PTA puts on free movies for students and provides popcorn. Help is needed with setup, selling refreshments and clean up. Contact Kristen Tierno at:

Trunk or Treat – Prior to Halloween, we have trick or treating for the students in the school parking lot. Decorate your cars, dress up and have lots of fun! Oct. 31, 2012: 12:30 start time and must be in parking lot by 11:30. Contact Kristin Henry at: 856-694-1816 or

Scholastic Book Fair – A book shop for the students. This helps the school earn books for the classrooms and runs two weeks during the school year. Help is needed with set up, selling during the school day (and usually one night during the week) and with putting everything away once sale is over. November 5-9, 2012 and May 6-10, 2013. Secret Santa Shop – This is a holiday shop for the students to purchase Christmas gifts for family and friends. We need help in setting up the shop, helping children with their purchases during school hours and with packing up when this is over. November 29, 30 andDecember 1, 2012.

Story Time – December 7, 2012 from 6:30-8 p.m. Story time for students at school with refreshments after stories are finished. Help is needed for setup, reading and clean up. Contact Mrs. Sidoti through the office if interested in helping with this event.

Daddy/Daughter Dance– March, 2013 (Date TBD)/Mother/Son Bowling – February 9, 2013. These events are in addition to PTA’s many family events and allow for a special evening set aside for father/daughter and mother/son bonding (other significant relatives can stand in). Ice Cream Social/Art and Science Fair – Ice cream and water ice is sold, along with hoagies and drinks during the school science and art fair. Help is needed with set up, serving and clean up. May 6, 2013. Contact Colleen Patterson at:

Scholarship– This is for scholarships awarded to 8th Grade students going into CatholicHigh School. One night towards the end of the school year, parents will meet and read essays written about a particular topic of school spirit, community spirit and faith. SCHOOL EVENTS/NEEDS

Hospitality Bakers – Send in baked goods and/or refreshments for events such as PTA meetings, Fundraiser nights (ex. Basket Bingo, Autumn Auction, etc.), Open Houses, etc. Contact Jennifer Mignano at r 856-694-4184.

Plumbers/Electricians/Landscapers/Office Help- These needs are ongoing if anyone has these talents that can be offered to the school when necessary, please contact the office.

Lunchtime Helpers –Help is needed to assist in the cafeteria or on the playground during recess – contact Rose or Miss Bruni through the office.

School Play– Help is always needed for this fun school activity. We need parents to help with set design and building, costumes, ticket sales, concession sales and program. The play is scheduled forApril, 2013. Contact Mrs. Sidoti through the office.

Catholic Schools Week– Help is needed with various events during the week of January 27, 2013. Contact Jennifer Mignano at

Middle School Electives – Parents are able to volunteer their time and talents to teach classes to our middle school students in various subject matters. Contact the office if you are interested in teaching a course.

Athletics– Parent volunteers are needed to help coach, run concessions and/or assist coaches with practices and/or games. The Athletics department also runs events like Warrior Day and the Alumni Basketball Game.If interested in helping the Athletics Department, contact the office.

ADVANCEMENT

Advancement Committee –Meets to discuss opportunities to promote St. Michael the ArchangelRegionalSchool throughout the community. Contact Monica Acevedo through the office.

Annual Fund Mailing: Assistance with putting together initial mailings and follow up mailings.

Open Houses: You can help to make our open houses a success by setting up refreshments, displays and providing tours to interested new families. There are two open houses scheduled for each school year,October 24, 2012 from 8:30-11 a.m. and 6-8 p.m. andJanuary 27, 2012 from 12:00-2p.m.If interested in helping with this event, contact Monica Acevedo through the office.

Community Christmas Breakfast and Vendor Event – December 1, 2012 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Community event for all parishes and students with Christmas activities, breakfast and pictures with Santa. Character Breakfast – February 23, 2013. Community event for all parishes and students with various children’s characters, activities and breakfast. If interested in helping with this event, contact Monica Acevedo through the office.

Spring Fling – A fun day of activities for the students and parishioners of all the sending parishes. We offer free fun activities, games for a nominal fee, prizes and food is sold. Hospitality Sundays(Refreshments After Mass):We will be sponsoring refreshments after Mass at each of the sending parishes to our school as a way to show parishioners what is going on at St. Michael the Archangel and as a thank you for parish support. TUITION SAVINGS CLUB (TSC) EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES

Tuition Savings Club Committee – meets every so often to determine state of TSC account and determine types of fundraising to support school needs. Contact Jennifer Mignano at 856-694-4184 or .

Yankee Candle Catalog– Help is needed during distribution of the orders for this fundraiser (middle of October). Contact Jennifer Mignano at 856-694-4184 or

Coach Bag Bingo- Fundraising Event – help is needed with setup and running raffles and bingo games during the night of the event. Scheduled for September 29, 2012 and March 23, 2013. Contact Jennifer Mignano at 856-694-4184 or .

Autumn Auction – Fundraising event – need help with preparation of baskets for auction, set up the night prior to the event, help with ticket sales the night of the event, kitchen help and clean up after the event.
