“Inequalities Research Collaboration Workshop”

Inequalities research within the University covers various disciplines and areas of lived experience including age, disability,ethnicity, gender, povertyand religion. The aim of this workshop is to develop a network of researchers, practitioners, policymakers, service users and third sector groups working on inequality issues to support learning and collaboration.This workshop will provide a forum for wide-ranging discussions on inequalities researchprojects that can contribute to a fairer society.

13:00Welcome and (self) introductions - Professor Sarah Irwin

You will be invited to briefly introduce yourself by providing your name, organisation, and 3 key words / phrases which summarise your area of work and interest in inequalities

13:15Using research to reduce inequalities–

A series of brief presentations on research collaborations that aim to reduce inequalities in a number of areas: Dr Caroline Mullen (Transport), Shahab Idris (MEND) and Tom Chigbo (Leeds Citizens),Dr Sue Kilminster (Medicine and Health); Dr Ghazala Mir (Medicine and Health);Richard Jackson (Voluntary Action, Leeds)
