Volunteer of Excellence Award – Recognizes Girl Scout adult who has delivered consistent service that is above the expectations of the position for at least one Girls Scout Service Unit or a wider girl delivery audience beyond the troop level.

Volunteer of Excellence Criteria – This is the first award in the progression ofService Unit and wider girl delivery audience volunteers. Volunteers must first earn the Volunteer of Excellence award before any other awards can be awarded regardless of the volunteer’s length of service. Contact to verify award criteria.

  1. Nominee must have served in a volunteer position, beyond the troop level, for at least one year (including the current membership year.)
  2. Nominee must have completed required volunteer training. (GSNETX Volunteer Orientation & Knowledge Check)
  3. Nominee must have completedSU Team Overview training (for service unit teams only).
  4. If on the SU team for longer than 5 years, the SU Overview should be repeated every 5 years.
  5. Nominee has had position-specific training in the last 3 years, if available. If there is no position specific training available, must have demonstrated competence as documented in the nominations.
  6. Day/Twilight Camp volunteers must have completed TR402 Protecting our Girls within the past two years.
  7. Two unique nominations are required from adults who are not family members of the nominee.
