DBS Checks

In order to provide a safe environment for vulnerable clients that require our services, we will require volunteers wishing to assist in some roles to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check. These checks are available free for volunteers; however applicants currently at either Warwick or Coventry University should apply through their volunteering centre.

1.  Your application will be acknowledged on average within 3 weeks
2.  We only recruit new volunteers 3 times per year (once every 4 months) our last intake was September 2017.
3.  Applicants are given feedback once short listed
4.  Those which are successful will be invited to the next stage of the selection process
5.  Unsuccessful applicants can choose to have their skills matched in areas within the centre, re-apply for the next intake or discuss other opportunities within the local community
6.  Successful applicants will then attend an induction session (10 - 4) where you have an introduction to the Centre and meet other volunteers and members of staff.
Some roles will require you to attend up to three days (10 - 4) of training in addition to the induction session.
Thank you again for your interest in the work of the Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre. Without volunteers we could not provide the services that we do.
