JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: / Housekeeper (BANK)
Salary: / £8.45 per hour (Living Wage Foundation rate)
Hours of Work: / Zero hours bank contract; normal working hours 10.5 per week, worked 4.00pm to 7.30pm during workdays (excluding bank holidays)

Job Purpose:
To provide timely and efficient housekeeping service at The Spectrum or any other VAR office location as may be required.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Internally – clean offices, meeting rooms, corridors, entrances, toilet areas (including WCs, sinks, mirrors and floors), communal areas, kitchen(s) and other assigned areas to the standards and frequency determined by the Finance and Operations Director.
This will include:
  • sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping, polishing and dusting floors, furniture, equipment, walls and doors.
  • Empty rubbish bins daily and dispose of contents, and any other rubbish identified, in the manner stipulated by the Finance and Operations Director. Clean waste bins as necessary.
  1. Externally – ensure immediate entrance area is free from rubbish and sweep/mop clean as necessary.
  1. Carry out recycling activities as directed.
  1. Use cleaning materials and equipment provided, following safe working methods. Report equipment malfunctions or cleaning material faults to the Finance and Operations Director or any other designated person.
  1. Ensure all cleaning material and equipment needs are reported to a designated person.
  1. Undertake additional cleaning activity as directed by the Finance and Operations Director or other designated person.
  1. Unlock and lock premises as necessary, ensuring all security devices (e.g. alarms) are activated/de-activated as appropriate.
