Signage Day Stage 1

The first good weather weekend in what seems months and everyone has other plans, but Kevin and Val new members came out to help. They even brought along their four wheeler. I think they were a little disappointed that I was the only other trailblazer helping out but they didn't show it in their enthusiasm. Kevin was the super pole pounder and Val was our sign installer and not one sign was installed upside down. I think it was because I wasn't installing them. I did the placement and order of the signs and I think we did a great job. Hats off the Kevin and Val!!

There are always signage projects and we need to have them up before the snow flies in order to open the trails, so another signage day is coming soon. I am waiting on my sign order but we have signs already to go if you want to help out and can't make a weekend than drop by the office, Carol starts October 30, 31, and Nov 1st. So the office will be open or drop me an email and I'll but some signs together.

Signage Day Stage 2

A very familiar sight, Bobby and Garnet discussing sign post placement!

New ASPA Map Is Out!

The new District 13 area snowmobile trail map is out and if you need a hard copy for your kit then drop by the office and pick up a few. New this year is the "North Shore Loop". Loop riding has become very popular in the last few years and we now have one on the map. If you can't wait and need your fix NOW! than check it out online at "

But being a trailblazer we have had our own loop for years, but now it is on the district map and maybe we should promote it.

Two New Staging Areas

In the last few years we have had major changes to our city link trail. Last season we lost the trail link to the Water Tower Inn which cut off access to a major hotel, fuel, and our office; a big blow to the trail system. Strathclair Fields became very important as the main in town staging area. Then Gino's restaurant opened up their parking lot as a staging area and many local and visiting sledders used it. It was wonderful to come have a bite to eat before or after a ride and we had many rides to and from Gino's. This summer Gino's has separated the lot and now we are not sure if the trail into this popular business will open. Step up, Jeremy VanHoek of River City Motor Sports. Not only has Jeremy helped us with a great place to stage our groomer from, but he is now making the back lot open for a sledder staging area. Some concerns about how many large trailer rigs this new area would accommodate had the Directors talking the City into plowing the field on 5th line right along the trail which will accommodate lots of room for the visitor and local sledders to trailer their sleds to without worry. So, two new staging areas opened up and one closes, or one closes and so we open two. How's those numbers!

Snow Goer Magazine Ride Planed

I received confirmation that the Snow Goer Canada tour staging from Sudbury and riding into D13 to do the North Shore Loop is confirmed for February 8 to 13.

Black Friday Event

Jeremy of RiverCity Motor Sports is holding a huge Black Friday event all day November 28 and asked the Trailblazers to come and "fly the flag" so to speak. With sledheads coming out for this huge event by the hundreds it is a get opportunity for the club to talk to riders and tell them all that is new about our trails and club. If you can help out just call Carole at the office. See you there!
