The Day

An online news service for readers of 11-18 years and beyond. Six news articles are

produced daily to engage the reader in the world around them. Articles are created to encourage the reader to think about the implications and complicated issues that lay behind the biggest stories and events. ‘Explaining matters’ is the tagline. By explaining the news, or calmly taking a good look at two or three of the most significant happenings in the world on any given day, is an essential service in an age where the babble of opinion and the 24-hour streaming chaos of events can easily create confusion for most adults let alone young people. The Day helps replace the conversation many do not have at home and to pick out the underlying issues that are shaping the world.
