VISTA TALONS AAU BASKETBALL
ATHLETES’ CODE OF CONDUCT

Athletes are required to read and sign an Athletes’ Code of Conduct (“Athletes’ Code”) in order to participate as a member of Vista Talons AAU Basketball Club (“Talons”). This Talons Athletes’ Code is proudly derived from the “Athlete Code of Conduct”, ©Folsom Vista Youth Football and Cheer.
I hereby pledge to conduct myself as a proper student athlete, and act as a positive representative of the Talons, by following this Athletes’ Code of Conduct:
· I will maintain a minimum academic standard of 2.0 (C average) or equivalent during the season, or risk being suspended from activities and/or dismissed from the Talons. Grade checks may be performed at random.
· I will maintain good citizenship. Fighting, misconduct, vulgar or derogatory language or disrespect can lead to being suspended from activities and/or being dismissed from the Talons. Any athlete who has an altercation at school or with law enforcement authorities, or is observed displaying conduct (anytime, anywhere) below the acceptable standards of an athlete, might face suspension and/or dismissal from the Talons.
· I will give appropriate advance notice to my head coach (or his/her direct representative) if I will be absent from a practice, game or event. Missing a practice, game or event will affect both me and my team/squad, and will be the primary reason for me not participating in activities. If I have too many absences, I may be suspended and/or dismissed from the Talons.
· I will come to practices, games and events prepared and ready to give 100%. I realize I may be suspended and/or dismissed from the Talons because of too many absences, not giving 100%, not knowing plays or routines, being out of condition, or not following the rules of the Talons.
· I will always treat my coaches, teammates, and adult authority figures with respect.
· I will be responsible for the maintenance of my equipment and uniforms. Uniforms must be washed on a regular basis. I will report any and all equipment problems to my head coach immediately.
· If I lose my uniform or equipment, I realize I am financially responsible to replace it.
Violations of the above Code of Conduct may, at the discretion of the Talons Board, result in suspension or termination (current and future) from the Talons without refund.
