Amanda Ross-Ho: UNTITLED PERIOD PIECE
2 January – 4 February
Tue – Fri 12 – 5pm
Sat & Sun 12 – 6pm
Admission free

Amanda Ross-Ho presents this new work in her first solo exhibition here in the UK.
UNTITLED PERIOD PIECE is inspired in part by Charlie Chaplin’s political comedy Modern Times, made in 1936 during the great global recession. The installation takes the form of a factory floor dedicated to the production of oversized garments. Ross-Ho’s surreal, theatrical environment collapses and inverts notions of time, labour and economy.
This exhibition was originally commissioned by Bonner Kunstverein, Germany and Vleeshal, Middelburg.

Steven Campbell: Love
20 January –25 March
Tue – Fri 12 – 5pm
Sat & Sun 12 – 6pm
Admission free

Love is an exhibition of twelve large scale multi-media collages made between 1988 and 1991 by Steven Campbell, one of Glasgow’s most celebrated artists.
These collages represent a little known experimental area of Campbell’s practice which also includes clay, plaster, papier mache sculpture, drawing, printmaking and textile design. Campbell began the works on his return to Scotland in 1987 following a five year period of living and working in New York. Completed at the kitchen table, amid the rhythms of family life the resulting collages are testament to Campbell’s modest needs, his restless imagination and experimental nature.

Artists’ Film Screening: Glasgow Film Festival
Martine Syms: Incense, Sweaters and Ice
23 February, 7:30pm
£10.50/£8.50

Martine Syms is a Los Angeles based artist whose work examines representations of blackness and its relationship to narrative, vernacular, feminist thought, and radical traditions.
This new feature-length film is a powerful exploration of the underlying oppressive racial structures, and their origins, in the United States. Interweaving biographical narratives with fiction, this multi-location narrative follows routes of the 20th century Great Migration of African-Americans from the rural South to the Northeast, Midwest and West.
Presented as a co-production between LUX Scotland and Tramway for Glasgow Film Festival.

Artist’s Film Screening
Lawrence Lek: Geomancer
8 February, 7:30pm
£5/£3

Artist and filmmaker Lawrence Lek presents a screening of three new works, Play Station, Sinofuturism, and Geomancer. Using his characteristic style of computer animation, Lek’s recent works attempt to map the spirit of our rapidly dawning age — one whose characteristics, he implies, include the growing ascendancy of Sino-Futurism.
This is a welcome return to Tramway by Lek, whose work featured in our Glasgow International group show in 2016.
