Visit to the Diocese of the Statue of Our Lady of Fatima
and the Relics of Ss. Francisco and Jacinta
On Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September, the Statue of Our Lady of Fatima along with the Relics of Ss. Francisco and Jacinta will be visiting St. Mary’s Cathedral, Newcastle. The event has been organised by the World Apostolate of Fatima (WAF).
Over the weekend there will be time to find out more about the work of WAF as well as the opportunity to spend time in prayer and to venerate the relics.
A concelebrated Mass will take place at 12 noon on Saturday 16 September where the Statue and Relics will be welcomed and the Diocese consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Below is a full timetable of what is happening.
Saturday 16 September:
10:30 to 11:30 Sacrament of Confession.
12.00 Procession & Enthronement of the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue & the Relics of Saints Jacinta & Francisco into the Cathedral followed by Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Séamus Cunningham.
13.15 to 13:30 Veneration of the Relics of Saints Jacinta & Francisco; Knights of St. Columba will be around to facilitate smooth veneration of the Relics

14.30 Fatima Film Showing (The Little Shepherds) in the side aisle of Church.
15:15 Talk on the Message of Fatima (Rosary/Brown Scapular/First Saturday Devotion/Pledge).
15.45 Enrolment and Investiture of the Brown Scapular.
16.00 Recitation of the Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries)

Divine Mercy Chaplet.
16.30 Private Devotional Prayers (The faithful can write their petitions - all written petitions will be sent to the Chapel of the Apparitions at Fatima, Portugal).
17:00 End of Day 1.
Sunday 17 September:
Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8am, 10am and 11.30am.
