Vision-Days 2007: Supply Chain Excellence needs innovative solutions
Wassermann AG invites industrial companies to its SCM symposium in Munich
Munich, November 27, 2006 – While the demands of global competition faced by manufacturing companies continue to increase, management consultants and software providers come up with new solutions again and again. But how do companies identify their improvement potential and how can they achieve the greatest efficiency in their business processes? Which concepts and successful best practices give critical impulses? These questions will be answered in expert presentations and workshops at Wassermann’s Vision-Days 2007. Wassermann is expecting some 300 participants at its 17th SCM congress, to be held in Munich on March 1–2, 2007. Under the motto “faster. higher. further. –supply chain excellence needs innovative solutions”, representatives from industry and research will provide suggestions and ideas for sustainable increases in companies’ logistic performance. The two-day event also offers many opportunities to share expert knowledge and exchange practical experience among the participants.
Economic globalization and new information technologies have override many limitations in production and logistics. Procurement, sales and labor markets have merged; competition has become international and thus more intensive than ever. Nowadays, not only large companies but even smaller businesses have international sales structures and purchase raw materials and semi-finished goods from suppliers all over the world. Production takes place in complex networks comprising both domestic and foreign locations. The main challenge here is to achieve consistent control of often complex structures.
But how do companies manage to optimize their processes across production sites, avoid bottlenecks or oversupply and react faster than others to changes in markets and demands? These are the issues that will be addressed by Vision-Days 2007 under the motto “faster. higher. further. – supply chain excellence needs innovative solutions”.
The Wassermann Vision-Days, which are taking place for the 17th time, have become a well-established SCM event, and an important occasion for industry representatives to learn about current developments and trends. The two-day conference brings together specialists from various industries, while the Kempinski Hotel Airport Munich venue offers a relaxed atmosphere for aninspiring exchange of ideas.
Besides expert forums focusing on different SCM-related topics, the event will focus on lectures by selected invited speakers. Thus, for instance, Wassermann customers Dr. Robert Engelhorn and Christiane Mart (MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG) as well as Pierre Linford and Francois Loots (Aspen Pharmacare Ltd.) will be presenting successful best practices and tried-and-tested concepts for optimizing process planning and scheduling.
Prof. Peter Klaus, Chair of Business Administration/Logistics at the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, and head of the Fraunhofer-Center for Applied Research on Technologies for the Logistics Service Industries, will outline future developments in Supply Chain Management. “Business unconventionalist” Dr. Peter Kreuz and innovation specialist Prof. Klaus Spies will illustrate their methods for developing new, intelligent solutions to help companies tackle the challenges they face daily. Conductor and music manager Christian Gansch will round off the conference program with remarkable and fascinating insights into achieving performance excellence, comparing the two kinds of organization: an orchestra and a company.
The complete Vision-Days 2007 program with a detailed agenda is available from Wassermann from January 2007. Further information on request or at
