Job Title: Cisco TelePresence and Unified Communications Systems Engineer (Pre Sales)

Location: UNITED STATES Northeast/Mid-Atlantic (NJ/NYC)

Reports to: VP- Chief Technologist

Level of Experience: Experienced Individual Contributor (Non Manager)

Role Summary:

To provide pre-sales technical leadership, excellence and support in the area of unified communications and collaboration with an emphasis in video and visual communications solutions to our customers and cross functional teams members at our company and manufacturers we represent. Perform as a technical expert and sales support resource focused on pre-sales solution development, customer demos/trials, design and statement of work development and pre-sales customer support. Some experience and exposure to post-sales, project implementation and training/certification roles and activities can be expected.

Professional Experience:

  • Maintain a current expert knowledge of all CISCO TelePresence & Business Video products and services
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Unified Communications and Collaboration with a focus on our CISCO TELEPRESENCE products and services around video collaboration integrated with other relevant technologies and solutions
  • Maintain a working knowledge of non-Cisco products and services and of emerging trends in the video, unified communications and collaboration industry overall
  • Assist with and participate in customer strategies that result in sales revenues and customer success
  • Develop and maintain relationships and rapport with all levels of customer business and technical personnel
  • Meet established sales goals and managed business objectives (MBOs)
  • Using a consultative and educational style, work with customers and prospects on how to best utilize CISCO TelePresence and Unified Communications products, technology and solutions
  • Perform as a senior, hands-on expert in pre-sales activities and sales opportunities with some post-sales, consulting and training activities and involvement as assigned
  • Perform as a senior pre-sales expert in video and UC solutions from an architecture, design and implementation standpoint including solutions and products involving homogeneous and heterogeneous on-premise, cloud and managed services
  • Ability to travel and effectively balance self-directed activities within the domestic U.S. including customer sites, company offices and home office work environments

Technical Skills and Abilities:

  • Highly computer literate
  • Proficient as a user with Microsoft server and desktop operating systems and applications
  • Administrator experience with Microsoft operating systems and applications including Active Directory, Exchange, IIS, SQL, etc. a plus
  • Proficient as a user with Microsoft Outlook, Office, Visio, OCS/Lync
  • Experience using network and protocol analyzers and troubleshooting tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of the H.32X and SIP suite of standards
  • IP communications and protocols including TCP, UDP, RTP, etc.
  • Experience with firewalls, switching and routing technology and devices
  • Full understanding of the OSI model
  • Hands-on design and implementation experience with emerging technologies, such as VoIP, wireless, streaming and social media desired
  • Proven and demonstrable experience in Unified Communications concepts, products, technologies and solutions
  • Experience with Cisco (and TANDBERG) CTS TelePresence Video Conferencing Solutions – Minimum 3 years REQUIRED
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communications suite of solutions, products and technologies including all products and solutions especially CUCM, Unity Connection, voice gateways, etc.
  • Experience working with Polycom, Lifesize, and/or other VC manufacturers is a plus
  • Experience working with Microsoft OCS/Lync Solutions is a plus
  • Experience with audio/visual design and implementation is plus

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent strongly desired. Master of Science in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
  • 7-10 years of professional and industry experience required in unified communications
  • Cisco CCNx, CCDx, CCIE certifications or equivalent knowledge desired with focus of Unified Communications with strong experience and exposure to video conferencing and TelePresence desired
  • Other industry, manufacturer and technology certifications a plus
