Vitotronic: new control program for medium-sized and industrial boilers
Comfortable to control, with an integrated assistant for fast and easy start-up by the contractor, with a cascade control for up to eight boilers, and with many options for modern communication – that is the new Vitotronic control for medium-sized and industrial boilers.
Control by way of color touch display
Make settings simply by fingertip – this is as easy as with a smartphone on the new color touch display with graphics in modern flat design. The user interface responds quickly and precisely to each command. The display functions as an energy cockpit, showing the energy consumptions in colored histograms that can be comprehended at a glance.
The automatic combustion is integrated into the boiler control by way of the standardized CAN Bus. Thus, the burner can be configured, controlled, and if necessary unlocked on the boiler’s control panel.
Assistant for easy start-up
The start-up assistant integrated in the control takes the contractor through all the important steps in the start-up procedure. Further detailed configuration of specific heating circuits and DHW generation can be carried out directly in plain text. This makes start-up particularly easy, time-saving, and safe.
The complete start-up and service can be done using the control panel with its color touch display. If desired, this work can also be carried out on a notebook with the Vitosoft 300 service tool. For this purpose, the new Vitotronic control has an integrated service interface (WLAN).
LAN and WLAN inside
A LAN interface is also integrated in addition to the WLAN interface. This can be used to connect the heating system to the Viessmann server (Viessmann IoT Cloud System). Then the system can be remote controlled and serviced.
In addition, hardware interfaces and BACnet or Modbus interfaces are also available for connecting to the building management system (BMS) by way of Vitogate 300 (accessory).
Integrated cascade control
In the model controlled by atmospheric conditions, the new Vitotronic boiler control has an integrated cascade function for up to eight heat generators. This simplifies setting up and running multi-boiler systems, since no additional cascade control needs to be used. The respective operating state of each individual boiler is immediately displayed on the Vitotronic’s easy-to-understand color touch display.
Comprehensive control program
The new Vitotronic makes a comprehensive control program available for Viessmann’s medium-sized and industrial boilers:
- Vitotronic 300, controlled by atmospheric conditions, with integrated cascade function,
- Vitotronic 200, controlled by atmospheric conditions, for a single boiler, and
- Vitotronic 100, constant boiler control.
Apart from the controls integrated into the respective boiler casing, as in the new Vitocrossal 300 (CM3C) gas condensing boiler, there are also models that can be mounted on the top of the boiler.
Accessories
The mixer extension for three heating circuits and LON module are standard components included in the scope of delivery with the Vitotronic 300 (CM1I and CM1E). Both components are available as accessories for the Vitotronic 200 (CO1I and CO1E). In addition, the accustomed accessories from the comprehensive range of products can be used, such as the Vitotrol remote.

Vitocrossal 300: especially service-friendly gas condensing unit for operating pressures up to 6 bar
Innovative boiler control with start-up assistant and perfect access to service-relevant parts – the Vitocrossal 300 (CM3C) gas condensing boiler is setting new standards with regard to ease of use and service. With an operating pressure of 6 bar and a rated output of 87 to 311 kW, it is the ideal heat generator for large residential and commercial buildings.
New Vitotronic control already integrated
The new Vitotronic control with its large color touch display is integrated into the boiler casing. To provide a quick overview, the energy consumptions are shown in the form of colored histograms. The start-up assistant integrated into the control supports the contractor in the important steps needed to start up the boiler. The boiler can be connected directly to the Internet by way of the integrated LAN interface for purposes of monitoring and remote control. It can also communicate with the Vitosoft 300 service tool by means of WLAN.
There is also a cascade function integrated in the new Vitotronic control for up to eight heat generators and a total output of up to 1,136 kW (8 x 142 kW). Hence no additional cascade control is needed.
Highly efficient heat generation
The combination of an Inox-Crossal heating surface made of rust-free stainless steel and a MatriX gas burner ensure maximum fuel utilization and especially low CO2 emissions. In combination with its modulation range of 1 : 5, the Vitocrossal 300 achieves a high standard utilization rate of up to 98 % (Hs).
The time-tested MatriX radiant burner enables it to run on group E (high calorific), group L (low calorific), and group LL (very low calorific) gas types, and even with liquid gas at 186 kW or more. At the same time, small-flame surface combustion makes the MatriX burner especially quiet no matter what its output. In balanced flue operation, for instance, the noise level at a distance of one meter from the burner is less than 50 dB(A).
The condensing technology benefit is determined by the return with the lowest temperature. A second return connector enables the Vitocrossal 300 to separate the heating circuit returns into a high-temperature and low-temperature circuit. Thus, heating circuits with differing system temperatures are not brought together at the condensing boiler. The separate connection of the low-temperature circuit guarantees the maximum condensing technology benefit at all times.
Not necessary: boiler circuit pump or hydraulic separator
The Vitocrossal 300 unit comes pre-assembled. Its water content is considerably larger than that of comparable condensing boilers on the market. This provides for a number of advantages:
- Its hydraulic connection is easy and inexpensive, a minimum flow rate and hydraulic separator are not necessary.
- No forced circulation, and therefore no boiler circuit pump is needed.
- There are no restrictions in the event of large differences between flow and return temperatures.
- The performance of the condensing boiler is robust in the face of fluctuations in the heating network.
- Its large water content also means that the burner does not need to start as often, which reduces wear and tear.
- What is more, the boiler is not prone to limescale, even if the quality of the water coming into it is questionable.
Service – perfect access to all parts
The Vitocrossal 300’s new casing concept makes service especially easy. Just take off the boiler front, lift the front part of the upper cover like the hood of a car, and slide back the side panels – all service-relevant components are immediately accessible and unobstructed.

Vitomax hot water and steam boilers: added value thanks to modular principle

More efficient and economical

Turbulators as equivalent heating surface
Turbulators yield better efficiency despite a lower rated heating surface. They swirl the flue gases around and improve the heat transfer in the boiler tubes. The length of the turbulators follows from the residual thrust of the burner in use and additionally increases the degree of efficiency, further reducing fuel consumption and operating costs.
Environmentally compatible thanks to low NOx emissions
The Vitomax Low NOx models are taking an important stand for environmental protection and sustainability. Strict emission requirements, like those already in effect in Switzerland or the Netherlands, are already fulfilled by all common makes of burner. No reduction in output is necessary for this.
Burner opening that does not wear out and needs no maintenance
Standard hot water and steam boilers are provided with burner openings made of concrete. However, no concrete is used in the innovative Vitomax boiler’s opening offered as an option. It is free from wear and needs no maintenance, nor does it need to be replaced during the boiler’s lifetime. This means there are none of the downtimes otherwise necessary for drying out the concrete lining. This results in far lower operating costs.
Easy transport and installation
Side rails on the boiler support let you pull and lift it, thus making it easy to transport. The better load distribution on the side rails enables lower static requirements for the foundation and helps save costs.
Assured access
The non-slip boiler cover can be walked on and facilitates installation while ensuring comfortable control. Inspection openings and fittings on the top of the boiler are conveniently accessible. The integrated location points on the boiler platform make it easy to upgrade later. The boiler cover you can walk on and the operating platform are available as optional equipment.
Digital networking and system management
The new PLC for hot water and steam boilers is ideal for digitizing the energy supply in industrial systems. Through networking and system management, as well as the analysis and evaluation of measurements and consumption figures, the control enables efficient, economical operation. Inefficient, uneconomical modes of operation can be indicated and the state of wearing parts recognized early on. System malfunctions or breakdowns can thus be avoided. The color display with its self-explanatory user interface is easy and intuitive to use. Flexible, customer-specific control solutions can be added with easily selectable modules.
