I think the best part of my day to day job is really the interaction I have with the technical team, with the engineers. Being able to help them sell their product, to describe that to the audience, to really understand that technology and the amazing things behind it is truly rewarding.

We have a lot of engineers, and they speak engineer speak. It's my job to work with them and to really understand what they do and get that message across to our different audiences. It is a lot of fun.

I've had a lot of different mentors since I’ve started at Lockheed Martin, some inside the communications function and some outside of it. I think the most important thing that a mentor told me was that I can make a difference and that I can do something great. I didn't always know going into a big company was I just going to be one of the folks wandering around the floor, or was I going to be able to make an impact? Since I've started I feel like I've made an impact in hundreds of different ways. It's exciting and it makes me feel challenged. I am thankful to those folks that told me that you can do this and you can take chances, and be innovative. I think Lockheed Martin really encourages that.

I think Lockheed Martin is unique because we have the best people, and we produce the best products because we have the best people. Our culture is one of innovation, and it's innovation with purpose.

There’s a deep-rooted passion; there’s a bigger cause. It doesn't matter if you're on the manufacturing floor or you're inside a cubicle, you know that the work that you're doing is going out there for the greater good, to protect our country, to help our armed forces. I don't think you can get that with a lot of companies, but you can certainly get that here. No matter who you talk to, they will tell you that.
