First of all I’d like to thank you for this opportunity to present our company to all Region 7 recipients. My name is Joe Yarbrough with Dee’s FoodService located in El Paso, Texas. We are VERY excited to be awarded the distribution contract for USDA food products.

A little about Dee’s FoodService. Dee’s FoodService is a broad line distribution company with 2 distribution centers. One located in Albuquerque, New Mexico which services customers in Albuquerque, southern Colorado, and eastern Arizona. The El Paso distribution center service area is southern New Mexico, all of the El Paso region, and West Texas Region number 7. Both distribution centers are audited by Equisure annually for compliance with food safety. Both DC’s hold this distinguished rating from Young Brands, which is one of the most stringent in the food industry.

DFS (Dee’s FoodService) has a combinedhundred and ten thousand square feet of food distribution warehouse space available. The Dee’s Food Distribution Center located in El Paso, Texas is a sixty thousand square foot facility. Of which, roughly thirty thousand square feet is temperature controlled consisting of 9 dock doors, 3 of which are temperature control docks. Currently, we have 5-temperature zone within the warehouse. The cold chain is never broken from shipper to recipient. The only time the cold chain is broken is from delivery truck to site. The main cooler is about nine thousand square feet. The freezer section is about seventeen thousand square feet. Produce and fresh eggs contained in about a four thousand square foot area. Currently our fleet, we have a fleet of 27 trucks that we service our customers with. Dedicated to the USDA Program we have 4 tractors and 4 trailers.

Our staff is made up of our Vice-President, Tim Akers and our President Steve Majors, CEO. Combined, those two have more than 30-years’experience with direct involvement with USDA and school bid products -- distribution management level warehouse and supervisor level as well. Our warehouse staff has more than20-years’ experience in distribution of just USDA products alone.

Our mission statement at Dee’s Food Service is a quality products, at competitive prices, together with outstanding service, and attitude, will eventually always win-out.

Our hours of operationare Monday through Friday 6:00am to 4:30pm. My receiving hours are 6:00am to 1:00pm, Monday through Friday.

My staff availability in my warehouse -- I have 2 trained, we have 2 trained people in the office -- one crossed trained as a back-up, and one as a primary to do all receiving inbound and outbound shipments as well as prepare paperwork for the warehouse employees. Within the warehouse I have 1 USDA lead person and 2 other order selectors that follow behind him. Concerning delivery zones. Not a problem with Dee’s FoodService. All of my trucks are equipped with ramps for easy deliveries and easy access to any site. Hands. Hand trucks and stair climbers, manual pallet jacks and lift gates are also available for those heavy deliveries. Special conditions -- This is addressed in our Food Safety Program under weather and environmental situations. In driving, in driver training, at hire and annually, rain policy procedures are also discussed.
