League Rules

U8 Format

• 2-3-2+Goalie, 40x60yd field.

• Two 24 minute running time halves with a three minute halftime;

• No Long poles permitted.

One pass rule in effect.

• Each team will have one clock stopping time out per game.

• All penalties result in a fast break for the other team. Player who commits foul will still be removed for 30 seconds or 1 minute, but will not create a man down situation.

• No ten second clock, no over the head, body or one-handed checks.

U10 Format

• 3-3-3+Goalie, 50x85yd field.

• Two 24 minute running time halves with a three minute halftime;

• Each team will have one clock stopping time out per game.

• Long poles permitted.

• All penalties result in time served. Technical penalties will be 30 seconds in length. Personal penalties will be 1 minute in length -running time.

• No ten second clock, no over the head, body or one-handed checks. Poke checks and slap checks will be allowed.

• Last two minutes of the game, teams with the lead must advance the ball into the offensive end of the field with time to be determined by the official.

U12 and U14 Format

• 3-3-3 + Goalie, regulation size field.

• Two 24 minute running time halves with a three minute halftime;

• Each team will have one clock stopping time out per game.

• Long poles permitted.

• All penalties result in time served. Technical penalties will be 30 seconds in length. Personal penalties will be 1 minute in length -running time.

• No ten second clock, no body or one-handed checks. Incidental body contact when playing the ball will be allowed.

• Poke checks and slap checks will be allowed.

• New York State High School rules apply except as specified.

All Divisions:

Eligibility: Player’s age as of 1/1/11 determines age group.

U8 = born 2002+

U10 = born 2000, 2001

U12 = born 1998, 1999

U14 = born 1996, 1997

Roster: A completed roster and insurance certificateis due to the league coordinator at the first league game (June 14th).

Insurance: A certificate of insurance listingVictor Central Schools and Victor Blue Devils Youth Lacrosse as additional insuredis due to the league coordinator at the first league game (June 14th).

Game Tiebreakers: Sudden Victory. Game ties will be broken by a three minute “sudden victory” overtime period.

Score Differential: For all four levels if a team takes a six-goal lead, the losing team will start with possession at midfield. The only exception to this rule will be to begin the second half.

Penalties:Technical Foul: thirty (30) seconds

Personal Foul: one (1) minute

Flagrant Foul or Unsportsmanlike: two (2) minutes

Penalty starts when play resumes. The timekeeper on the sidelines will release the player from the penalty box. Penalties occurring in the first half of play will carry over into the second half.

Time:No ten (10) second rule. Two (2) twenty five (25) minute halves, running time. Clock will stop in the last two minutes of the game unless there is a 6 goal differential. The team with the lead must advance the ball into its offensive end.

Goal Rule:Each team has thirty (30) seconds to line up for a face-off after a goal or the Referee has the ability to award possession to the other team.

Championship Game Point System: The League will use the following point system to determine the final week’s Championship games:

Three (3) points for a win

One (1) point for an overtime loss

Zero (0) points for a loss

The tie breaking procedure to determine playoffs will be as follows:

1. Head to head.

2. Fewest goals allowed.

3. Coin flip.

Contact:No deliberate body contact may be initiated, either offensively or defensively. Rule: (Play the Ball) Stick on Stick (Poke Check) is allowed. No slashing or wrap checks. 2 handed stick checks only. Incidental body contact is to be expected (i.e. ground balls & side lines).

Ejection Policy: Any player, coach or fan ejected from a game or field during the summer league will be prohibited from playing, coaching or watching any other league games for:

1st offense: 2 games

2nd offense: Remaining games

Personal Conduct Policy - 2 personal conduct fouls (unnecessary roughness, unsportsmanlike conduct) in a game will result in an immediate ejection. *Referees will still have the discretion to eject a player for any malicious/flagrant behavior.

Championship T-Shirts will be awarded to all players on 1st place teams.
