VicArts Grants –Application drafting tool

Introduction

The online Creative Victoria Grants Portal will accept VicArts Grantsapplications until 5pm on the advertised closing date.

Use this tool to draft your application. Once drafted you will need to copy and paste your drafted text into the corresponding boxes on the Grants Portal.

Before starting an application, make sure you have read and understood the program guidelines oncreative.vic.gov.au/vicarts.

Application Details

Section 1 – General Section

The fields in Section 1 are included in the drafting tool as they will need to be completed on the Grants Portal. The only field in this section that benefits from being drafted – that is, crafted and refined – is the Project Description.

Section 1 is a generic section that all applicants respond to across all programs.

The Project Description should be a simple description of the type of activity encompassed by the project / program. Please use the following description template:
Activity (eg: presentation, creative development) of title (name of work), a style (historical drama, play, book, dance work), exploring theme, by company or artist.
Example: The creative development and presentation of The Play a historical drama play exploring links between family and landscape, by Example Theatre Company.
In addition to your projects details, Section 1 will also require you to answer the following question.

If you choose Victoria you will then be asked to submit a single Victorian address where the project is taking place. If you are touring or working in multiple locations within Victoria, choose Statewide.

Section 2 – Project/Program Details

It is important to provide a clear and comprehensive description of your project and what you are proposing to do. Each response can have a maximum of 2000 characters, including spaces.Revisit the guidelines at creative.vic.gov.au/vicartsto make sure your application addresses the assessment criteria and aims of the program.

What is the artistic concept/idea of the proposed activity and how do you plan to deliver it?
How will the proposed activity contribute to the development and sustainability of the artists’, organisation’s or participants’ practice; and what contribution does the proposed activity make to the quality and reputation of the Victorian arts sector?
What strategies will you employ to identify, engage and develop new audiences and/or which community will you engage with and how will you collaborate with them?
If you are applying for 2 year funding, you will also need to respond to two additional questions:
Why is there a need for 2 year funding and what are the key benefits in securing 2 year support?
2 year funding will not be granted consecutively. How will your program / project / organisation move towards a more sustainable model during and after the 2 year period of support?

Section 3 – Artistic Personnel

Each response can have a maximum of 2000 characters

List all the artistic personnel and organisations involved in your project, and their role.

Section 4 – Project Activity Area

Applications are assessed against the program aims and assessment criteria by one of six artform-based Advisory Panels.

Section 5 – Budget

To submit an application you will need to include a complete budget online.

If you are applying for 2-year funding, ensure your request is for the TOTAL 2 year amount(eg, applicants requesting yearly support of $25,000 per year should apply for $50,000). Your budget should be for the two-year project period.
