Thanks for inviting Mr. Morris to the VISAA annual meeting.

VISSA is focusing on the development of coaches and a leadership program for the students. The Positive Coaching Alliance attended and helped run the session. Partnered with the NFHS network. Working with the Independent Schools to submit their membership information. Working with MSP for printing and have set up an online store. Increasing the number of representatives for their association.

Fall championship events are in full swing. Thanks for your support.

All state selections must be done within two weeks of the event. Cheer is just a ranking. An online option is available through the VHSL - AT Conference. See J. Sisson. Executive Committee meeting items are due Wednesday. Lacrosse proposal is coming for 3 championships, rather than 2. A New Field Hockey proposal for tie breaker coming through. SMAC recommendation for a medical presence as sub state events. VHSL is looking into not having kick-offs, do to safety concerns based on injury data.
Bullying and Hazing is an issue and will be added to the VHSL website.
NFHS Resources:

Sportsmanship committee has met and is looking to be a resource for ADs.Concussion legislation was discussed and, specifically, the Return to Learn process. The current document is a draft. I still has multiple levels of review before it is passed. Pg. 5, “student will progress to the next phase without exacerbation of symptoms…” Can I still have a head ache and move to the next phase…? Pg. 8, No 3, regular training of fitting and training for equipment - Who trains?

Discussion will be coming on the 2 vs 4 year cycles. Transgender policy may be reviewed.

At the October session, 3 of 6 taught, 12 students, 2 from out of state. LTI classes at the conference are set by the conference committee. Will be doing an out teach in December in Va Beach.

394 total members. Paid active, 156. New lifetime, 15. Paid Retired, 31. Current lifetime, 192. Does not include, new lifetime. Past presidents, 28. Note: Up 10 from last year. Need to look into the Independent schools
