BATTLE OF FLOWERS BAND FESTIVAL

THURSDAY APRIL 26, 2018

Congratulations on being selected to be one of the feature bands in “Blazing Trails”, the 2018 Battle of Flowers Band Festival to be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018! The gates will open at 5:00; the Prelude will begin at 6:30 followed by the Parade of Bands at 7:00 and ending with a spectacular massed band finale with 4000 students performing together on the field, led by a guest conductor. In between the two parade of bands the O’Connor Panther Band will be featured and perform their entire show in front of a sold out audience!

The Band Festival will again be held at SAISD’s Alamo Stadium. The Band Festival will be shown on the SAISD Stadium JumboTron, and there will be limited parking. Alamo Stadium is bleacher-style seating, and seats do not have backs. Patrons are allowed to bring in their own stadium seat-backs, as long as they do not exceed 18” in diameter. Each ticketed seat allows for 18” per person. Please consider purchasing an extra seat if you would like to have additional personal space or room for bags!

As a feature band, we are giving you the opportunity to purchase tickets for your group before tickets go on sale to other schools or the general public on January 13th. Last year’s event SOLD OUT so buying pre-sale before the general public or the other 35 HS bands have a chance to buy is a great advantage.

Attached is a ticket order form. Please fill out completely and return to Mr. Sandoval on or before Tuesday December 19th. We will collect all the way through the band concert on the 19th. We will send this 1st order in for the BEST SEATING when we leave for the holiday break. If you order by December 19th you will have the best chances of getting center section tickets around the 50 yard line for the performance. Once January 13th hits and the Fiesta Association starts selling tickets to the other bands and general public we will no longer sell tickets and it will be up to you to buy them from the Fiesta Association. Once again last year’s event SOLD OUT and there were no tickets available at the gate…so this is your best option for GREAT SEATS.

We will need the entire move crew and 14 chaperones for this event. So if you are involved in the move crew we will be taking all three trailers and everything we used for the show. Please keep that in mind when purchasing tickets. I will be giving a detailed rehearsal schedule for how we will keep the show “alive” until April.
