5. / Brainstorming Session:
  • GM and JC facilitated the brainstorming session by opening the session to the forum by presenting a few discussion points as listed below:
  • P&A Uptake
  • Definite industry need
  • 2nd Tier Uptake
  • Definite industry need
  • SARS Process (DA 190)
  • Definite industry need but there needs to be a full investigation done on the requirements from SARS and potential changes regarding MIDP
  • E-Invoicing
  • Although self-billing is already a reality, the forum did feel that this was required. Some of the suppliers, however, did indicate that it should be investigated further and that it should be presented at another workshop to test other user’s responses
  • Reporting
  • No major changes required, but forum indicated that they currently do not use this as much as they should
  • JC and GM encouraged the use of the reports for quality management purposes and requested users to indicate future enhancements required
  • MISCCIP Communications/Training
  • Discussions regarding bulletins on the portal resulted in the forum deciding that the current set-up is sufficient
  • JC however encouraged users to regularly check their bulletins for happenings and important information
  • It was confirmed that there is a definite need in industry for formal training of users.
  • The following points were raised by the attendees:
  • Search functionality – enabling a user to search for a portion of a Part Number
  • CX will investigate the suggestion
  • Pending functionality – Discontinued parts
  • This matter will be addressed between CX and the OEM’s on a case by case basis. It was agreed that pending functionality should not be used for obsolete parts. The supplier should rather contact the OEM to ensure the parts have been deactivated.
  • Sorting of Releases by version number
  • CX will investigate this suggestion
  • Request for Quote / Company Profile
  • CX will investigate this suggestion
  • P&A Remittance advices
  • CX will investigate this suggestion
  • Tracking Bulletins
  • Bulletins can currently be tracked manually. OEM’s requested a facility that would enable them to track bulletins online. CX to investigate.
  • JC and GM requested the users to ensure the following:
  • Users were requested to ensure that they renew their User Name and Password to access their information on change over personnel, as it posses a security risk to the Suppliers and the OEM’s if an employee leaves the companies and the User Name and Password is merely carried over to the next person
  • Users were requested to update their company details and profiles on the site as this is the database that is used for communicating to the suppliers. In addition, the E-Waybill uses the company information for collection and delivery addresses.
  • MF requested that the AIDC include topics such as “How do we retain our competitiveness as an industry – an update on Europe, USA etc” in future workshops to ensure value is added.
  • JC elaborated on the APV Audit process
  • Previously the AIDC obtained the information from the OEM’s and a vigorous process of consolidating of figures were there after followed to determine every suppliers APV value, which then had to be matched up to the information contained in the subscription contracts with CX
  • The AIDC conducted this function as a neutral third party to the programme, but it became ever increasingly difficult for the AIDC to access the information from the OEM’s
  • The new process will involve the issuing of a letter to the suppliers wherein they, as contractually agreed to with CX in the original subscription contact, will indicate their latest or current APV with the OEM’s, where after the billing for the services from CX will be adjusted accordingly
  • The AIDC will continue to do random audits on the information supplied by the users, thereby ensuring the correctness of the information supplied
